The best 65-inch TV we’ve tested so far is the LG C2 (available at Amazon). We love this OLED TV for its ultra-slim design, incredible contrast and advanced gaming enhancements. However, you don’t have to spend thousands of dollars to get a solid 65-inch 4K TV – we’ve got the best options at every price point.
The LG C2 OLED took our previous favorite, the LG C1, and made it even better, making it the best 65-inch TV you can buy right now.
As an OLED model, the pixels of this TV are self-illuminating. Each can be brightened, dimmed or turned off, allowing for perfect black levels and incredible contrast. Of course, this is the standard for OLED TVs. What isn’t standard is LG’s OLED evo display technology, which improves the C2’s brightness over the C1.

In HDR mode, this TV can produce highlights in the 700-800 nit range, covers around 97% of the HDR color space (DCI-P3) and supports Dolby Vision. SDR content, like most cable broadcasts, also looks good, albeit a bit dim.
C2 is our top choice for gamers. All four inputs are full-bandwidth HDMI 2.1 and support 4K gaming at 120 hertz (Hz).
The C2 also features Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) and Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), including AMD FreeSync and Nvidia G-Sync. LG’s Game Optimizer settings menu changes game settings such as VRR and frame information and frees frame rate information.
There are some weaknesses. Without DTS audio support, you may not get the most out of Blu-ray playback. We’re also not fans of LG’s WebOS Smart Platform, which is slow and burdened with sponsored content. If you are interested in C2, we recommend using an external streaming device.

The A95K is Sony’s first QD-OLED – OLED TV with quantum dots. They have created something absolutely incredible. This is the best picture quality we’ve ever seen on TV. Unfortunately, it also has one of the highest prices we’ve seen, which may put it out of reach for most buyers.
The A95K has a perfect black level and wide viewing angles, like all OLED TVs. However, it also deals with relatively low brightness compared to LED TVs, which OLEDs often struggle with. It’s one of the brightest OLEDs we’ve tested, and it’s great for day and night viewing as long as it’s not in direct sunlight.
Thanks in part to Sony’s quantum dot technology (dubbed Triluminos Color), the A95K’s colors are stunning. It covers 100% of the HDR color gamut (DCI-P3). Its bold, bright colors are suitable for all types of materials. It is especially good at reproducing skin tones and subtle shades without color streaks.

Most people think of the A95K’s head-spinning price tag, but if you’re looking for the absolute best image money can buy, look no further.
Hisense U8H is one of the most affordable options of the year. This mini LED TV has quantum dots that guarantee a great picture at a surprisingly affordable price.

The U8H’s native dimming performance rivals its high-end competitors by combining screen darkness and brightness with a surprisingly low amount of light. It also offers plenty of light in HDR and SDR, day or night. We measured a peak brightness of highlights in HDR of around 1,700 nits, and an average of 900 nits in SDR. That’s almost unheard of in this price range.
The U8H’s colors are also rich and vibrant, thanks in part to the quantum dots. The U8H covers an impressive 97% of the HDR color gamut (DCI-P3) according to our laboratory tests. In practice, this means that everything from SDR TV shows to HDR movies will appear in color.
Of course, you can pay more for a fixed gaming TV, but considering the price of the U8H, it is worth considering for modern gaming. You get two HDMI 2.1 ports capable of 4K gaming at 120Hz, for ALLM and VRR with FreeSync Premium Pro.
The intelligent platform is also strong. Google TV is fast, easy to use and full of great app options.

There are a few drawbacks worth mentioning. HiSense’s image processing isn’t as strong as Sony, Samsung and TCL’s, especially upscaling sub-4K content. Off-axis viewing can also be a problem. The U8H’s picture quality starts to deteriorate when you move away from the vertical viewing position.
Still, few TVs offer this level of performance for the money. There’s a lot more to love about the U8H than just night gathering. It’s a fantastic, affordable TV that most people are happy to call their own.
The Samsung QN90B is a top-level television that combines advanced features with an efficient, clear picture. It’s our current pick for the best TV for bright room viewing.
