Advanced features such as a 6.67-inch QHD + “Fluid AMOLED” curved display with a 90Hz refresh rate, HDR10 + support, Universal Flash Storage (UFS) 3.0 storage – a first for a smartphone – and a camera of the back three. Additionally, the OnePlus 7 boasts a solid build, OnePlus’ signature features, a powerful user interface, and more. In this review, we find out how the latest and greatest OnePlus model stacks up against competitors like the Samsung Galaxy S10 series, Huawei P30 Pro, Apple iPhone XS, and Google Pixel 3. Design OnePlus is known for making sleek and compact phones. However, the OnePlus 7 Pro deviates from the traditional design with a curved design, no doubt inspired by Samsung’s flagship phones. While that’s not a bad thing, the device reminds you of a Samsung phone every now and then. The first thing you will notice when you hold the phone is the weight. The device is very heavy at 206 grams thanks to the aluminum frame and glass back. The back of the phone has a beautiful design. For the Blue Nebula model we examined the transition from dark blue to light blue at different angles. The back of the device has a matte finish that reduces fingerprints, unlike its predecessor, the OnePlus 6T, which was a fingerprint scanner. The OnePlus 7 Pro has a design that is up to the mark with no bezels or gaps on the front and is very lightweight. The immersive design is made possible thanks to the pop-up selfie camera that returns to its original position when not in use. Its large 6.67-inch display is perfect for watching movies, playing games, browsing the web, and more. During testing, however, we found the phone to be too large for one-handed use. In terms of physical features, the left side of the device has the volume rocker, power on/off button and notification slider on the right side, as well as the camera lens on the top. For that matter, almost all smartphones offer 60Hz screens. The exception is the Razer Phone (in tablets, the iPad Pro has a 120Hz screen). In simple terms, the 7 Pro’s 90Hz screen refreshes 90 times per second, while the 60Hz screen refreshes the screen at 60 frames per second (fps). The high refresh rate makes activities such as browsing, scrolling pages and viewing videos a smooth experience. The difference is noticeable when you go back to your old phone, which immediately starts to feel sluggish. The display is also equipped with an in-display fingerprint scanner. Not only is the sensor accurate, but it’s proven to be one of the fastest fingerprint sensors we’ve tested so far. In addition, the monitor has HDR10 and HDR+ compatibility, which can produce good HDR content on the screen, with good color saturation and good contrast. The phone also has Dolby Atmos enabled with two speakers (the bottom speaker is connected to the ear). Performance OnePlus has always been praised for making devices that are not only fast but also lightweight. With the 7 Pro, OnePlus continues that tradition. In fact, the Snapdragon 855 is 30% faster than its predecessor, the Snapdragon 845, found in the OnePlus 6T. The processor is supported by 6GB/8GB/12GB RAM. OnePlus 7 Pro is the first smartphone to feature the new UFS 3.0 flash storage, which also increases speed. The 12GB RAM variant we reviewed made almost all tasks a breeze. The mobile phone comes with a gaming mode to enhance the gaming experience. In addition to this, OnePlus has partnered with esports organization Fnatic and offers you Fnatic Mode. Fnatic Mode features many advanced game features such as improved DND mode, increased focus on game performance, network enhancements, and more. With features like UFS 3.0 score, SD 855, Adreno 640 GPU, 90Hz display and more, the gaming experience on OnePlus 7 Pro is completely different. The device doesn’t lag or lag while playing CPU/GPU intensive games like PUBG, Asphalt 9, Sniper 3D etc. In fact, the 7 Pro has one of the best screens we’ve seen playing PUBG. However, we did get a little bit of heat when we were gaming for a long time. The phone runs on the popular OxygenOS version 9.5, which is based on Android 9 out of the box. While most features are similar to the OnePlus 6T, the 7 Pro adds extras like a built-in video camera, screen editor, and Zen Mode — a mode that cuts down on the time you spend on your phone. Again, it should be emphasized that UIPlus’ UI is one of the friendliest and easiest to use. Cameras OnePlus 7 Pro features three rear cameras with a 48MP primary camera with a large f/1.6 aperture and OIS for stable photography, an 8MP telephoto lens with up to 3x optical zoom, and a 16MP ultra-wide-angle pixel. the sensor has a field of view of 117 degrees. On the inside, the device includes a 16MP sensor housed in a motor housing that pops out when in use. From the camera UI, one cannot ignore the fact that the interface is missing from basic features such as changing the resolution mode or increasing the AI capabilities when taking pictures or even editing pictures. Photos from the main camera are sharp and colorful. However, the 7 Pro still has room for improvement compared to smartphones like the Galaxy S10 or the Apple iPhone XS. While the images have a good dynamic range, some images lack detail and some are washed out. As far as phones and wide lenses go, the camera performs well. Autofocus and PDAF quickly lock the focus on your subject when shooting in daylight. However, these cameras are disappointing in low light as one will see a lot of noise in the images. The camera also has problems when the subject moves too far back. The 7 Pro needs a software update if OnePlus wants to compete with the Huawei P30 Pro, Google’s Pixel devices, and the Galaxy S10. While the photo mode is moving, the camera can focus on the subject with amazing accuracy while adjusting the background. The rear camera can record 4k videos at 60fps with good image stabilization. The 16MP selfie camera is up to speed when we hit the front-facing camera. Selfie Snapper can click selfies with many details. The front camera does a great job when it comes to bokeh photos. When the subject is bright, it takes sharp pictures with good colors. In dark situations, however, the images change in size. As for video recording, the selfie camera can record videos in full HD resolution of 1920*1080 pixels.
