In fact, what impressed us the most was the customization of the S23 Ultra. With a pair of 3x and 10x telephoto lenses (as well as a 108MP main sensor), the S22 Ultra’s images looked absolutely stunning in our tests, capturing every detail in tonally perfect colors regardless of lighting conditions.

At a whopping £400 less than the Ultra, the Galaxy S23 is a great alternative for the cost-conscious shopper. It uses the same top-of-the-line Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, which delivers the same blisteringly fast numbers, and its 50MP primary camera also impressed in testing. If you’re not too keen on buying the latest and greatest from Samsung, the Galaxy A21s is the perfect choice for those on a budget. It’s not the flashiest smartphone on the market, but the Galaxy A21s is a great smartphone packed with all the features for very little money. Somehow, Samsung managed to squeeze in a total of five cameras, which, again, is pretty generous considering how much it costs. It has a huge 48MP camera which is excellent, as well as a macro, wide-angle lens with a depth sensor. Samsung sure knows how to make a budget smartphone, and the Galaxy A21s with Android 10, an attractive design and a great screen completely exceeds our expectations. Samsung’s premium flip device is the best we’ve ever seen. The flaws have been ironed out, and the Galaxy Z Fold 4 is a culmination of previous improvements with an IPX8 waterproof rating, a rugged design, overall performance improvements and huge improvements in multitasking.
The most expensive smartphone you can buy right now, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 is well worth the price if you’re lucky enough to afford it, especially since it uses Qualcomm’s most powerful mobile chipset, the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1, which delivered the most an improvement in the performance of our game tests from generation to generation in several years. If you want a phone that will make your friends ooh and aah, and you have a lot of money burning a hole in your pocket, then this is the one to get.

Cheaper than the S21, but with the same speed, bright display and great rear camera setup, the S21 FE (or Fan Edition) is one of last year’s best value smartphones. On the other hand, if you have even less money to spend on a new Samsung phone and still don’t want to sacrifice much in terms of features, then the mid-range Galaxy A54 5G is a safe bet.
With a large 6.4-inch screen, accurate colors, a triple camera system and reliable performance, there’s little not to like. Not to mention the remarkable battery life: the Galaxy A54 5G lasted almost 27 hours in our tests. The only downside is that the display isn’t HDR compatible, but that’s a minor drawback when you consider how much you’re getting for relatively little money.
Aside from the Fold (shown above), the Z Flip 4 5G is another great folding flagship. With the same premium features like IPX8 waterproofing, a surprisingly durable design and a 120Hz screen, the Flip 4 5G is much better value for money because it costs a lot less. And with Flip-friendly changes like a bigger battery, improved performance and a few UI tweaks, the Flip 4 5G is almost as good as all that for a fraction of the price.
