OLED TVs are some of the best TVs out there. OLED (Organic Light-Emitting Diode) is a panel technology that creates incredible contrast, amazing colors and ultra-thin profiles. The results have been sensational, and OLED TVs have been at the top of “Best TV” lists for several years now.
For a prime example of display technology at its best, we recommend the LG C2 (available at Amazon). Not only is this LG TV the best OLED TV of 2023, it’s our current pick for best TV. Its amazing image quality, ultra-slim design and advanced features put it at the top of the heap.
While almost every OLED TV looks amazing, the big differences are features and price. All of the OLEDs here are great in their own right and are proven in our grueling lab tests.
The C2 is the successor to our favorite 2021 TV, the LG C1. This new version makes incremental but significant improvements to LG’s already impressive display and replaces its predecessor as our favorite TV, bar none.

Like all OLED screens, the C2 can adjust its brightness at each individual pixel, even turning pixels off. This allows for perfect black levels and incredible contrast, which the C2 builds on with incredibly bright highlights. It also features LG’s OLED evo display technology that improves brightness – ranging from 700 to 800 nits for HDR – and color intensity for 97% DCI-P3 coverage.
Cinephiles and A/V fans will appreciate the C2’s Dolby Vision support. Meanwhile, gamers can enjoy 4 full-range HDMI 2.1 inputs that support 4K gaming at 120 Hz (Hz), and automatic low latency (ALLM) and variable refresh rate (VRR), with AMD FreeSync and Nvidia G-Sync . LG’s Game Optimizer settings menu lets you change VRR options, view frame rate information, and easily adjust the TV picture while gaming.
It’s not a perfect TV. First, we wish LG wouldn’t drop DTS audio support. Additionally, their webOS smartphone software is slow, full of sponsored content, and frustrating to use. We recommend using a streaming device rather than streaming to the TV itself.
The LG C2 is the latest addition to a long line of award-winning OLED TVs from LG. It is more expensive than most TVs, but the price is justified by its world-class performance and features.

The A95K is Sony’s first OLED TV with quantum dots, and they nailed it from the jump. Image quality is the best we’ve seen. Unfortunately, the price will make it out of the question for most buyers.
The A95K delivers the perfect deep black levels and wide viewing angles you’d expect from an OLED. It also eliminates the dimming problem that plagues some OLEDs, making it one of the brightest we’ve ever tested. It’s great for day or night viewing as long as you don’t expose it to direct sunlight.
Sony’s quantum dot technology, which they call Triluminos Color, delivers brilliant, vibrant colors. It covers the entire HDR color gamut (DCI-P3) at 100%, and its bold colors pop whether you’re playing TV shows, movies or games. The A95K is particularly impressive when rendering subtle skin tones and gradations. Even when it’s upscaled from standard definition content, you probably won’t notice any color banding.
Based on Google, the A95K smart platform is fast, flexible and quite easy to use for everyday broadcasting. And while the A95K doesn’t excel at gaming compared to some high-end competitors, it still offers decent gaming support. Two of the HDMI 2.1 inputs support 4K gaming at 120Hz – although one of those inputs is also the TV’s eARC port). Other gaming improvements include variable refresh rate, automatic low latency mode and G-Sync compatibility.

The outrageous price of the A95K will undoubtedly turn some people away. But if you want the best photography money can buy, this is it.
With incredible picture quality and a wide selection of A/V and gaming related features, the LG C3 OLED is one of the best all-round TVs you can buy. It’s a better-performing TV than our overall top pick, the LG C2, but its premium price keeps it from the top spot while the C2 can be found at deep discounts. However, if you want the latest and greatest version of LG’s C-series OLED, go for the C3.
Like its predecessor, the C3 combines perfect black levels with strong highlights and rich, abundant colors. It’s brighter than the C2, but only by a hair, due to new image processing improvements that manage light output.
The C3 is at its best when displaying HDR content, covering 99% of the HDR color gamut (DCI-P3) and boasting a brightness of up to 800 nits. Image lovers will appreciate the TV’s out-of-the-box resolution and Dolby Vision support, and everyone in the room will appreciate the C3’s incredibly wide viewing angles (the hallmark of OLED screens).

Few TVs offer as many gaming-related features as the LG C3, including ultra-low input lag, four HDMI 2.1 inputs that support 4K/120Hz gaming, variable refresh rate (VRR) and automatic low latency mode (ALLM). On sale The S95B is still the better budget option, unless you’re after a 77-inch model or want the flexibility of Samsung’s One Connect box which puts virtually all connections in a separate box, both of which are only offered with the S95C.
The S95C is the brightest OLED we’ve tested to date, with HDR visuals reaching 1,400 nits. The S95C’s colors look amazing whatever you’re watching, but HDR movies, shows and video games look especially vibrant. The S95C covers 99% of the HDR color gamut, and the sheer brightness of the quantum dot-enhanced color palette really makes a difference.
The S95C is a gaming powerhouse and its low input lag and 144Hz base refresh rate are just the tip of the iceberg. All four HDMI 2.1 inputs support 4K/120Hz gaming, along with Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM), Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) and AMD FreeSync Premium. Like last year’s model, the S95C also offers Samsung Gaming Hub (a cloud gaming platform) and Game Bar, a settings menu that puts various gaming enhancements on the TV at your fingertips.

As with all Samsung TVs, you won’t get Dolby Vision support with the S95C. Instead, the TV instead offers support for HDR10+, which is an HDR format that uses frame-by-frame metadata similarly. Additionally, while the S95C’s software has seen slight improvements year-over-year, we found the user interface somewhat confusing and some operations slow, which may disappoint those looking for a simple and lightweight experience for a smart platform.
The LG G2 is LG’s best performing OLED this year. The LG C2 is generally the better choice for most people. But if you’re willing to go for it, the G2 has similar features with slightly better image quality.
One of its main advantages over the C2 is its powerful brightness. It can bring out more highlights during HDR, and its incredible contrast makes it one of the best TVs for enjoying HDR10 and Dolby Vision content. Complementing its contrast is the enormous rich color that covers almost 99% of the HDR Ultra Wide (DCI-P3) color gamut.
It’s not even playable. All HDMI 2.1 ports support automatic low latency, variable refresh rate and 4K gaming at 120Hz. There’s also a settings menu for LG’s Game Optimizer. Here you can adjust the image, change game optimizations and monitor the frame rate.
