The Best 65 Inch Tvs For 2023
For decades, we’ve tested picture quality, design and features to determine the best TVs around. Since 65-inch screens are one of the most popular sizes, it seems appropriate to pay attention to them. From top TVs to great deals, we’ve rounded them up for you.
The best 65-inch TV we’ve tested so far is the LG C2 (available on Amazon). We love this OLED TV for its ultra-slim design, immersive contrast and advanced gaming enhancements. However, you don’t have to spend thousands of dollars to get a solid 65-inch 4K TV – we’ve found great options at every price point.
The LG C2 OLED took our previous favorite, the LG C1, and made it the best 65-inch TV you can buy right now.
As an OLED model, this TV’s pixels are self-illuminating. Each can be lightened, darkened or turned off, allowing for perfect black levels and incredible contrast. Of course, that’s standard for OLED TVs. What’s not standard is LG’s OLED evo display technology, which improves the C2’s brightness capability over the C1.
Samsung 43 Qn90b Qled Review
In HDR, this TV can produce between 700 and 800 nits of specular brightness, covers around 97% of the HDR color space (DCI-P3) and supports Dolby Vision. SDR content, like most cable broadcasts, is interesting, albeit on a smaller scale.
C2 is our best for gamers. The four HDMI 2.1 inputs have full bandwidth, and support 4K playback at 120 hertz (Hz).
The C2 also features Low Latency Mode (ALLM) and Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), including AMD FreeSync and Nvidia G-Sync. LG’s Game Optimizer settings menu changes game options such as VRR and picture information, and changes frame rate information.
There are some weaknesses. Without DTS audio support, you may not get the most out of all your Blu-rays. We’re also not fans of LG’s smart webOS platform, which is slow and cumbersome with protected content. If you are streaming to C2, we recommend using an external device.

The LG C2 is one of the best OLED TVs we’ve tested. It’s more expensive than most TVs, but the price is justified by world-class performance and an impressive and extensive feature list.
The A95K is Sony’s first QD-OLED – OLED TV with quantum dots. They made something perfect. This is the best picture quality we’ve ever seen on a TV. Unfortunately, it’s also one of the highest prices we’ve seen so far, which may put off a lot of buyers.
The A95K has perfect black levels and wide viewing angles, like all OLED TVs. However, it also exhibits relatively low brightness compared to LED TVs that most OLEDs struggle with. It’s one of the brightest OLEDs we’ve tested, making it easy to view both day and night while sitting in direct sunlight.
Thanks in part to Sony’s quantum dot technology (called Triluminos Color), the A95K’s colors are stunning. Covers 100% of the HDR color gamut (DCI-P3). Its bold and vibrant colors stand out in all kinds of content. It’s especially good for defining skin tones and subtle pigments without color banding.
Samsung Smart Monitor M8 S32bm80 Review
The A95K’s Google Smart Platform is fast, flexible and incredibly easy to use. It’s great for everyday broadcasts.
While the A95K doesn’t offer as much gaming flexibility as its competitors, it can keep up with modern consoles. Its two HDMI 2.1 inputs support 4K playback at 120Hz, although one is a dedicated eARC port for audio bars. The A95K also gives you ALLM and VRR with G-Sync compatible.
Many people will understandably balk at the A95K’s superior value, but if you’re looking for the best photography money can buy, look no further.
The Hisense U8H is one of the best value options of the year. This mini-LED TV features quantum dots for a great picture at a surprisingly low price.
Samsung Tu8000 Tv Review: Good Value Tv With Limitations
The U8H’s local dimming performance rivals top competitors, with minimal blue shock light fading when dark and light mix on the screen. It also provides plenty of light in HDR and SDR, both day and night. We measured a peak brightness of around 1,700 nits at specular brightness in HDR, and an average brightness of around 900 nits in SDR. It is almost unheard of in this price range.
The colors on the U8H are also rich and vibrant, thanks to the quantum dots. According to our lab tests, the U8H covers an impressive 97% of the HDR color gamut (DCI-P3). In practice, this means that everything from SDR TV shows to HDR movies will appear in true color.
You can certainly pay more for a more powerful gaming TV, but considering the U8H’s price, it’s more than adequate for modern gaming. You have two HDMI 2.1 ports capable of 120Hz 4K gaming, ALLM and VRR with FreeSync Premium Pro.
The smart platform is also solid. Google TV is fast, easy to use and full of great app options.
Samsung Q80t Series (2020) Review: High End Design, Excellent Picture, Approachable Price
There are a few drawbacks worth mentioning. Hisense’s image processor isn’t as good as Sony, Samsung and TCL, especially for upscaling sub-4K content. Off-axis vision can also be a problem. The U8H’s image quality starts to improve when you move away from a direct viewing position.
However, few TVs offer this level of performance for the money. Much more than a scheme to love U8H. It’s a fantastic and great value TV that most people are happy to call home.
The Samsung QN90B is a high-end TV that packs advanced features with a brilliant picture. It is the current choice for the best TV for bright living room viewing.
The QN90B features Samsung’s Neo QLED technology, a combination of high-contrast mini-LEDs and color-changing quantum dots. The result is one of the brightest pictures we’ve seen on a TV, which is adept at restoring that brightness when needed. It is one of the best LCD/LED TVs that can display HDR content.
Samsung The Serif Tv (2020) Review: A Work Of Art, A State Of Tvs
The QN90B is packed with gaming features. Four HDMI 2.1 ports support 4K gaming at 120Hz, and with ALLM and VRR for low-latency gaming without visual artifacts like screen tearing. FreeSync Premium Pro and G-Sync support are both included.
Unfortunately, Samsung TVs like the QN90B do not support Dolby Vision. Also, the QN90B sometimes falls victim to low light, especially when viewed from an off-axis position.
However, if you want a bright picture and premium features, the Samsung QN90B is one of your best bets.
Combined with its incredible picture quality and wide range of A/V and gaming features, the LG C3 OLED is one of the best TVs you can buy. It’s a better performing TV than our top pick, the LG C2, but its great price keeps it from the top spot while the C2 can be found at deep discounts. However, if you want the latest and greatest LG Series C OLED, go with the C3.
Samsung Bu8000 Review: Crystal Uhd Tv That Has Everything You Need
Like its predecessor, the C3 combines perfect black levels with clear highlights and rich, rich colors. It’s brighter than the C2, but only by a hair, thanks to image processing improvements that manage light output.
The C3 is at its best when displaying HDR content, covering an incredible 99% of the HDR color gamut (DCI-P3) and offering up to 800 nits of brightness. Picture connoisseurs will appreciate the TV’s out-of-the-box precision and Dolby Vision support, and everyone in the room will appreciate the C3’s incredibly sharp edges (a hallmark of OLED screens).
Few TVs offer as many gaming-related features as the LG C3, including ultra-low input lag, four HDMI 2.1 inputs that support 4K/120Hz gaming, Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) and Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM). The C3 also supports AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and Nvidia G-Sync compatibility. LG’s Game Optimizer is also back, providing gamers with an easy-to-access menu to tweak the TV’s image and tweak game-related enhancements on the fly.
