The Sony X75K series is the cheapest in the company’s Ultra-HD TV range, and is one of many series with a screen size of 43. That said, the 43X75K isn’t exactly “cheap”, so to speak. At 53,190, it is more expensive than many competing brands, and prices go up to more than 1,00,000 for the 65-cm model. All TVs in the X75K range, including the 43-inch reviewed here, have Ultra-HD (3840×2160 pixels) LED LCD displays with the same dynamic range as HLG and HDR10 formats.
In terms of design, the Sony KD-43X75K TV is a better idea than a standard 43-inch TV. This is mainly due to the attractive finish around the narrow borders of the screen, and the simple and smart Sony logo on the front. The TV is as tall as you would expect for an LED TV of this size. The bottom of the TV is a little more interesting, offering a low-profile system for viewing and directing.
It is available on the table or on the wall for the TV, although the product only includes products for the table stand. You can use any VESA wall, and Sony also offers free professional installation, where a technician will provide the appropriate wall mounting hardware if you choose to mount it on a wall.
One set of ports and sockets on the Sony KD-43X75K TV faces the back of the TV, while the other faces the left side of the screen. Rear ports include one HDMI port (with ARC), a Video-in socket, an Ethernet port for connecting to the Internet, a Digital Audio output (Toslink), and a power socket.

All of this is difficult to achieve if you have a poorly mounted TV wall, and this can also cause some cables and plugs to bend to the point of damage. You’ll also want to make sure all of these connections are in place before you mount the TV to the wall.
Connectivity options on both sides include two HDMI ports (undefined version), two USB Type-A ports, a 3.5mm headphone jack and an antenna socket. This is very easy to achieve, but I was disappointed that there is no HDMI port on either side that supports Return Channel (ARC). However, all HDMI ports support the latest HDCP 2.3 standard.
Other key features of the Sony KD-43X75K TV include a native 50Hz refresh rate, Sony’s Motionflow XR 200 interpolation algorithm and 16GB of storage for programs and program data. The TV has a 20W low-fi, open baffle system to support Dolby Audio. Wireless connectivity includes Bluetooth 5 and dual-band Wi-Fi, in addition to wired Ethernet connectivity.
Sony continues to deliver great full-screen TVs with the CD-43X75K TV. The brand has an infrared emitter and Bluetooth connection, and once it is connected to the TV via Bluetooth, the infrared emitter is only used to turn the TV on or off. The rest, including giving voice commands through the microphone on the remote, uses a Bluetooth connection, so you don’t need to point the remote at the TV to work.

The remote has number, direction, back and home buttons for navigation, playback and keys for Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, YouTube and YouTube Music. There’s also a dedicated button to call Google Assistant, a button to change the source or download TV settings from anywhere on the Internet, and a useful information button that shows content resolution, connection speed and more. It looks good, it works well, and it gets the job done.
Sony KD-43X75K TV has a large, fully equipped remote control with buttons to control all the functions of the TV.
The Sony KD-43X75K also has Google Chromecast built-in, a Sony X1 4K processor, support for Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa, AirPlay 2 and HDMI CEC to control connected devices with a single device. You can also use a Bluetooth TV line with a cordless phone and speaker.
All of these things worked as expected, but it’s important to note that you’ll need a special app to display Apple devices perfectly on your TV; I used AirScreen which is available in the Google Play Store for Android TV and it worked well.

The Google TV user interface was launched with Chromecast and Google TV in 2020, but the platform has been slow to catch on, as many TV manufacturers choose to stick with the tried and tested Android TV. Sony is an early adopter of the new interface, and the KD-43X75K runs Android TV 11 with Google TV UI on top.
Google TV, of course, is a different face or skin on Android TV, it still works on the basic functions of smart TV on Sony KD-43X75K TV. This includes the Google Play store for Android TV with its more than 5,000 apps designed and optimized for TVs, easy access to Google Assistant and Chromecast, and more.
However, the Google TV UI is much nicer to look at than the Google TV store, and has some useful features. First, Google Play Movies is no longer an application, but integrated into the app. This means you can search for movies and TV shows to rent or buy, and do things right from the UI itself. Helpfully, the search tab gives you different ways to view the title you’ve searched for, prioritizing any services you’re already registered and logged in for convenience.

Search and recommendations also have an official rating of rotten cooked in many names, and the system can confirm movies and TV programs from different services, including Disney + Hotstar, Apple TV +, Amazon Prime Video and Voot, etc. While the search tab can scan all programs on your TV, including Netflix, the search engine does not support Netflix.
Overall, the Google TV UI is a refreshing and much-needed change to Android TV, and Sony has been quick to embrace it by offering a better TV than the competition, especially if you’re heavily invested in the medium. Everything worked for me, and I had no software issues during my time with the Sony KD-43X75K TV.
Considering that there are many 43-inch Ultra-HD TVs from popular brands available for under Rs 30,000 in India, the Sony KD-43X75K has to offer more than just the basics to justify its Rs 53,190 price tag. A lot of that goes into it. the form of elegant design, useful and luxurious features, and a great software experience that is a step beyond what many products currently offer. However, the most important thing is always performance, and Sony offers a better experience than the other 43-inch 4K TVs I’ve reviewed so far.
Support for Dolby Vision and HDR10+ in budget TVs is rare, so the Sony KD-43X75K’s support for HLG and HDR10 formats seems just disappointing. However, this Sony TV does a great job even with a limited HDR format compared to what many cheaper TVs do and even better Dolby Vision. This is mainly due to the excellent image calibration and HDR implemented by Sony.
