Update Arrow Blurays Review

Update Arrow Blurays Review – I finally got my hands on a copy of True Romance, which came out last fall on Arrow Video (which I just started reviewing). Unfortunately not 4K UltraHD (but I plan to get it), but since I don’t have a fully UHD-enabled home theater anyway, that’s not a deal breaker. The disc is already in its second pressing, with the first, limited collector’s edition versions, the exclusive edition on Amazon, Zavvi or other stores, selling quickly and for a lot of money on Ebay, while the second Bare Bones release is barely or more often available (our Click here for overview). Second pressed standard editions are available, for example, on Zavvi and other outlets or on Ebay at expensive prices. But with some googling, you can get a copy, because so far there is zero information on a third printing of Arrow or indeed a worldwide release of this one. So at this point the Arrow release is a one time opportunity. Let’s dive in.

Update: There will be a US special release very soon (see Amazon links below), so please my American friends and read this review with high anticipation.

, which includes both the director’s cut version of the film and the initial theatrical version, as liked (by fans, viewers, the director, and the writer);

The disc includes newly remastered versions of both of these cuts, which look better than previous iterations, especially if you get the 4K disc, and

, it has some very interesting new extras that allow you to dive a little deeper into the film, as well as carrying over previously available extras. So let’s see.

Now I do one thing I don’t watch the old theatrical cut, I don’t know if the first one I saw was the theatrical or director’s cut of True Romance (probably on TV in the late 90’s) but it wasn’t. There’s actually a substantial argument for making the dramatic cut, I think. But it’s for competitors and nostalgic, and I think both still exist.

Arrow: The Complete Series [blu Ray] [31 Discs]

After years of watching it, my eyes are not only dull, but I actually want to say that this is perhaps one of the best films of the late 90’s that has been re-appreciated by the wider public. The way the film came out at that time was something that was not relished. It has so much heart, such great writing and it’s a wonderful movie experience that grabs you by the balls… and the heart.

The score isn’t the most original composition, but it’s a wonderful and heart-wrenching score that adds so much to the character of one of the most romantic films of all time.

What makes the film so great is not just the excellent screenplay with impeccable dialogues and wonderfully quirky characters, but the entire roster of great actors who play almost everything leading up to the extras.

, a beautiful pair). The film is full of talent and star-sprinkling supporting roles, I mean, get this, the only role in this film is probably the lowest by Floyd the Podhead and

, before delivering an uber cool one liner and blowing his brains out! No wonder people didn’t get it back then, the audience wasn’t cool enough for this.

The film offers a lot of heart and some gory violence, but it’s also a typical Scott film – a gritty look at a world we’re not told this way. The show turns into pure scotch, but also gets a lot of it

Playbook: Violent, poetic, dramatic, surreal. True Romance is a prime example of great, creative and cinematic ’90s filmmaking, giving an early taste of Quentin’s flair for character writing and compelling stories you can relate to without being a coke dealer. I was so glad to see this again, what a beautiful film.

Visitor (arrow Uk) (blu Ray Region B)

On the disc image, I have to say, jumping back and forth between the old release and this one, the difference isn’t massive, but you’ll see more realistic and vibrant colors, less dirt, and an overall clearer picture. And significantly more detail and depth. All in all, it’s a clear and objectively better transfer – but not a revolution. To be fair to the restoration work, this has a lot to do with the tricks our eyes play on us, so I googled a 1:1 screenshot comparison and the difference is really something, especially UHD, which gives a lot more detail. Authenticity with respect to source material. If you have 4K, it’s something even different, which should put you in a whole new category of detail and color depth, with the HDR color palette and all.

Sound is always hard to compare, but my impression is that they run the material through more up-to-date processing, which gives it a bit more range and is less compressed. It sounds really great whether you choose the surround track or the stereo track. All of the tracks are slightly glitchy, and prior to this edit, minor dialogue touches hurt background/ambient sounds that, when you listen closely, sometimes sound distorted or muffled at times, but that’s not the overall experience. This hurts and the added clarity in the conversation is very welcome.

Where the disc shines is the extras. Here, of course, you’ll find Quentin’s excellent audio commentary for the previous release, a must for any fan. I won’t go into too much detail about the old extras, any self-respecting fan should be familiar with these. In addition to Quentin’s excellent commentary, commentary is also included

, which is definitely a must-see, and one with Slater and Arquette, was always the least interesting commentary of the trio (in part because none of them seemed super-enthusiastic) but still worth a watch. A new commentary on this disc

Wild Things Blu Ray [4k Arrow Films] Review: Dir. John Mcnaughton

. He has the benefit of hindsight and takes a more meta and bird’s-eye view of the film and would rank after Quentin in trivia and pop culture references. It certainly welcomes this disc, very well informed and entertaining.

New ones on this disc. Pitt’s flashbacks or Rubinek’s (done over the phone) some of these are brilliant ideas. It’s all very rich and if they had more of these, they’d probably edit them together as a movie backing track. And then there are some new interviews

(8 minutes; co-founder of the annual True Romance Fest and now owner of Cadillac). Of course, these names won’t necessarily ring a bell with most people, but that’s what makes these so good.

There’s the previously known deleted and extended scenes with optional commentary by Tony, as well as the alternate ending with optional commentary by Tony or Quentin, and then there’s what Arrow calls the Electronic Press Kit, which is a ton of advertising that’s part of the campaign: four features and interviews since then. Five discussions. But on top of that, of course, there are trailers and TV spots, as well as image galleries (featuring product stills as well as video and poster artwork).
