For most people, finding a phone with specs and features that won’t cost an arm or a leg — if not a steal — is a bargain. That’s why this series is set to rock near-flagship specs without breaking your wallet like flagship phones.

The Samsung Galaxy A50s is a great phone right from the start. When you open the box, you’ll notice an uncanny resemblance to its predecessor: the Samsung A50. Released long before the Galaxy A50s, the Samsung A50 was a very promising mid-range release.

The Samsung Galaxy A50s comes in a holographic color design and needs more reps. Many phones have taken on more distinctive designs overall, but the Samsung Galaxy A50s didn’t disappoint. It gives the phone an interesting profile and makes me think of an ornament on a rainbow. Don’t Come At Me Sparkles may be difficult for some, but you’re never too old to believe in rainbows that break rainbows.
Jokes aside, I oddly prefer the sleek and futuristic design compared to the A50 as they have added a touch of linear cuts that almost look like diamond cuts. With a glossy finish and a fresh digitized pattern, the Prism Crush comes in shades of black, white, violet or green. It gives an attractive, bold and futuristic look. The phone has an immersive display. Like most phones on the market, it has a 6.4″ FHD+ Super AMOLED near bezel-less Infinity U display. However, it’s not exactly pretty.
If you’re expecting the Galaxy A50s to be no different, you’d be eating your words. We all know that the A50 was released equipped with a flagship processor. This was a surprising move by Samsung earlier this year, as mid-range phones usually have so much processor that it can disappoint some fans. They boosted the processor from Exynos 9610 to Exynos 9611. At that time, Samsung’s home-baked processor breathed enough with smooth performance. So it was no surprise that the Samsung Galaxy A50s was on. Additionally, the phone has 6GB of RAM to help deliver efficient performance.
Galaxy A50s cameras are getting an upgrade! It has the same four cameras: three on the back and one on the front. The phone’s rear cameras include a 48-megapixel f/2.0 main sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide shooter and a 5-megapixel depth sensor.

The rear cameras are similar to the A50, but instead of a 25-megapixel main shooter, the Galaxy A50s has a 48-megapixel shooter. Samsung has not failed to upgrade their front-facing camera. From the 25-megapixel front camera, the Galaxy A50s gets a 32-megapixel f/2.0 main sensor.
The main 48 megapixel camera makes the pictures look bright, sharp and clear. I took both day and night photos for comparison, and the day photos are noticeably sharper. Night shots aren’t necessarily terrible, but the darker it is, the more likely it is that shots will come out a little louder.
An added feature of the camera is the Super Stable mode, which gives you smooth live video even if your grip gets a little shaky. Using an ultra-wide camera outdoors is always more fun. The quality is inferior to the main shooter, but the wide field of view gives it a different experience.
I also played around with the camera’s live focus to see how the images would come out, and they didn’t disappoint. Sometimes it takes a tap or two for the phone to focus on the right subject. But overall the pictures turned out great. I mean, who can go wrong with pictures of homemade cookies?

For selfies, it’s great. It has a high-resolution sensor with an available beauty mode. You can never go wrong with the AR Emoji feature in Samsung’s flagship phones.
I checked how long the phone lasted and it took a good beating. I usually use my phone to play games, work and go on social media. The fact that they lived for about three hours a day
, and a full day of work and watching Youtube videos is great. If you use the phone a lot, the phone reaches 10% at the end of the day. The Galaxy A50s lives up to its promise of a full day of use.
The Samsung Galaxy A50s is promising. It has almost flagship features that add to its appeal. I think if there’s anything to think about the phone, it’s how the range delivers on a mid-range budget while trying to bridge the gap in features that can drive up the price of a Samsung phone. The phone is amazing when you consider that it costs PhP 16,990. If you want quality pictures, attractive design, good processor and awesome battery then get this phone.
