Update A50 Screen Price Review – Samsung Galaxy A50 Review: For those looking for a great display and triple-camera design, a large AMOLED screen and a good camera at an affordable price, the Galaxy A50 is the device for you.

The mid-range smartphone segment is not Samsung’s stronghold as it was before the rise of Xiaomi, Oppo, Realme and others. Recently, Samsung has produced smaller and better devices for an unusually high price tag. For the life of me, I can’t understand why the Galaxy J8 (review) costs $19,000.

Declining sales have made Samsung realize that it needs to offer more for less to compete in the incredibly competitive mid-range smartphone space. But after so much missing, things may be looking up for Samsung. Because the recently revealed Galaxy A50 looks like a step in the right direction.

Moto G 5g (2023) Review: A Tough Buy, Even For $250

Priced at $19,990, the phone offers two very impressive features: a good camera and a great screen. You can also add design to the subjective list, but for the smaller and slimmer profile, I’d take the Samsung over the Poco. If there are two features you want in a smartphone (all three if you add design), Samsung has got you covered. If performance is what you’re looking for, you’ll be well-matched with the Poco F1 (Syn). Let’s learn more about the device.

I’m going to go out on a limb here and declare the A50 one of the best displays under $20,000 I’ve ever had the pleasure of seeing. The color accuracy on the screen is definitely better than the Poco F1. It makes OLED panels flawless, and the A50’s 6.4-inch AMOLED display is one of the best you can expect from Samsung.

Looking at the two screenshots, the Poco F1 shows a maroon tint to the bright red images and a slight yellow tint to the white background, which is not the case with the A50. The phone has several display modes including Auto Display, AMOLED Cinema, AMOLED Picture and Basic. I recommend Auto display mode as it offers more realistic viewing colors. I will say that I see a very slight blue tone to the screen, but nothing to worry about.

Lcd With Touch Screen For Samsung Galaxy A50

The brightness of the phone is really amazing. I can read everything on my phone in bright sunlight. The screen is still very readable at night, but it can get very dark at times, so I recommend keeping the brightness around 25 percent when reading at night. Samsung has also thrown in a blue light filter for ease of reading at night.

When it comes to the flip-up mode, or the Infinity U display as Samsung calls it, I think Samsung has done a good job of getting the tag as a great viewing experience. This will be the first notable smartphone from Samsung that I have reviewed and I believe the company has done a great job. You can keep the head if you want.

Another thing that should attract people to this device is its triple camera system. It’s not something you’ll find in a phone under $20,000. The best part of the camera is the inclusion of a wide-angle lens, which I’m very excited to try out.

The Galaxy A50’s triple camera setup includes a 25 MP low-light shooter, an 8 MP wide-angle lens, and a 5 MP depth sensor. The ultra-wide lens on the phone offers a 123-degree field of view that captures more of the frame from the same spot. While the wide-angle sensor is great, it does distort at the edges, providing the ultimate image distortion on the sides. It’s still amazing how big an ultra-wide sensor is in standard mode.

Samsung Galaxy A51 5g Review: A Strong 5g Bargain

The 25MP main lens is listed as a low-light sensor, and I have to say I’m not disappointed for the most part. The phone doesn’t have a dedicated night mode in the camera options, but ‘World’s Best’ recognizes low-light conditions and adjusts accordingly. The camera also has noise reduction, which is not something I can say about the Poco F1. However, there are times when the camera can’t recognize low-light scenes and produces colorful images that lack impact and detail. Also, the Poco F1 has more details and a better display feature compared to the Galaxy A50.

Low-light issues aside, the phone captures high-quality images in daylight scenes and also displays a strong dynamic range. The Poco F1 doesn’t print the most color-accurate photos or have the most dynamic range, but it captures more detail in a photo. Because vibrant and colorful images are in style, it’s a deal breaker for most people. The third lens is the depth sensor used for live bokeh shots.

Bokeh effect or Live Focus works well too, background separation often doesn’t. The front camera has a 25MP sensor that takes good pictures, but even with the beauty mode turned off, Samsung’s sharpness is visible.

In terms of video, the phone takes good stable videos which can be attributed to EIS on the device. Also, videos look decent, but the secondary ultra-wide sensor does a pretty sharp job. The phone can also record video at 720p @ 480 fps.

Samsung Galaxy A50 Review: Flagship Looks At A Mid Range Price

OneUI is something I’ve been interested in since I received the A50 for review, and I have to say I’m very happy with what Samsung has done. I’ve experienced the ugliest TouchWiz, or the redesigned version called Experience UI, which in my humble opinion is a bunch of useless features and software combined to invoke the Android experience. With OneUI running on Android 9.0 Pie, Samsung has done things a little differently and the experience is more Android-like.

The dropdown menu is very accessible. When pulled into the notifications drawer, it easily fills the entire screen with icons using just your thumb. In general, all icons are larger (can be minimized) and menus have less information than before. In addition, the software is highly customizable with different themes and skins. When designing OneUI, Samsung seems to be keeping in mind users who are tired of using the search option to find basic settings.

There are also a lot of software issues like the gallery, browser, and dual apps for the Galaxy Store that take up space on the home screen and can’t be removed but won’t slow down the UI. The digital health feature is the only benefit you can get from your phone by telling you how often you unlock it. I hope Samsung will improve on this UI and give the fan base a better Android experience.

The Galaxy A50 is a powerful phone and looks attractive at the same time. The Oppo F11 Pro (review) has a polycarbonate back, despite not having a triple back. We get a blue color scheme that really catches the eye. The triple-camera setup is placed on the right side, as seen on the Galaxy A7 (Review) with the flash underneath.

Samsung Galaxy A50 Specs

The bottom of the phone has a Type-C charging port along with the speaker and headphone jack. The left side of the phone is a flat cover for the hybrid dual SIM card slot. On the right side are the volume rocker buttons and the power button. The device does not have a fingerprint scanner as Samsung has decided to get an in-display fingerprint sensor.

On the front, it has the Infinity U display, which is a great way to design a high-end display, and it has a big barrel like the Poco F1. The device has a sleek design and feels balanced and delicate, making it better than the Poco in terms of design.

Unfortunately, that’s performance for Samsung in mid-range smartphones, or at least not performance for the money. Not since Xiaomi came to the party anyway. Exynos 9610
