Also, you need a phone that supports the frequencies used in the country (preferably all of them in Singapore for the best experience).
You can get a Singapore SIM card at Singtel, StarHub, M1 and Simba (formerly TPG Mobile) stores. Resellers such as 7-Eleven and Cheers convenience stores also sell SIM cards. It is also possible to obtain a SIM card at Singapore Changi Airport (except SIN – SIMBA SIM cards).
Singapore uses GSM technology for mobile communication. CDMA phones will not work in Singapore. If your phone has a SIM card slot, it supports GSMA (99% of phones today support GSM).

Commercial 5G NR will be available in Singapore from September 2020. It is available on Singtel, StarHub, M1 and SIMBA (formerly TPG Mobile) networks. Only Singtel allows prepaid customers to use 5G NR (if you buy a specific 50 SGD plan) – others don’t.
If you are looking to buy the best SIM card in Singapore, I recommend going with Singtel. It is the fastest mobile operator and has the widest coverage (like its competitors). Consider its Tourist SIM card for 100GB data for as low as 12SGD (same applies to M1).
M1 allows prepaid customers to issue an eSIM to prepaid customers. However, only if you get its 12 SGD Tourist SIM card (or eSIM). Regular prepaid customers can’t get an eSIM (yet).
Note that Singapore mobile operators (in the future) require your identification (passport) for the SIM and physical SIM card (discussed later).

But beware: only Singtel allows prepaid customers to use 5G NR (if you buy a 5G NR plan… currently only).
