Top Birthday Gifts For Dad – Father’s Day, father’s birthday, Christmas – if the children are still small, sometimes they need help with a gift for dad. Why not get something for quality?

Father’s Day is approaching – it’s time to start sneaking gifts into the closet for dad. It was my usual vacation spot. Last Christmas my son knocked me over and now we can share that secret spot.

Father’s Day is a holiday where children can express their appreciation for their fathers, but our family is still very young, so our children could use some help. Our three-year-old son is starting to learn the meaning of different holidays and we are planning something with him for the first time. Our daughter is only a month old, but she often gives dad a particularly beautiful smile.

Homemade New Dad Gifts: Handmade To Show Your Special Love!

This is why I am the main director of the Father’s Day party. I couldn’t be happier about it! First, I appreciate how good a father Jeffrey is to our kids, but there are few things I enjoy more than getting ready for the holidays. I carefully consider local family attractions, beautiful picnic spots, and of course gifts for my husband. I usually try to find something to celebrate being a dad that he can enjoy with the kids. These are the ideas I got this year.

LEGO sets. My dad was a big LEGO fan as a teenager, and from the time Budster could connect two bricks, the two of them would be connected to a LEGO structure and their heads would be hooked on top of the table. If I take my son to the store to pick up a present, he confidently walks up to the shelves with LEGO boxes. When I asked him what we should get dad, he held up a box with a TIE fighter kit and insisted that this was what dad wanted. He might not be wrong!

In addition to Star Wars, other popular LEGO sets in our family are Classic and Creator. In addition to the classic sets, we get a box with less specialized parts and a booklet of suggested projects. Great imaginative family time! The Creator sets often offer more unique buildings than the City set, and each set actually has three possible themed buildings, all of which can be made from the same parts. I especially like these newest additions to the line – the Lighthouse set and the Lakeside Lodge set (see the adorable moose)!

Another idea is to get small kits like this seaplane and have a friendly competition to see who can build them the fastest. Making three projects out of each box, Dad can call it “best two out of three” if Budster is ahead.

Father Of The Groom Gifts He’ll Want To Keep Forever

A pocket microscope. Our father loves to take his children on nature adventures in the woods, parks and our backyard. It’s probably their favorite thing to do together. They look for insects, small animals, plants and nuts and come home with pockets full of stories and little things. When I saw this little pocket microscope, I thought, “Yes! They’ll have fun exploring their discoveries along the way!”

Jeffrey had been asking me to get him a microscope for a while, and when I mentioned the pocket version (20x-40x or 60x-120x magnification), he said he was definitely interested. For the past month he’s been reading Budster books about bugs at bedtime so it must be perfect timing!

Telescope. With a budget cushion, a telescope can be another great gift for dads and kids to explore together. With the cheaper ones, you might not be able to handle the same details, but it’s as much an experience as it is an education. Pack a small snack and a blanket, and then think about whether you’ll go out into the backyard at night or drive out into the country, where the city lights don’t get in the way of seeing space. Finally, I sit quietly under the big dark sky and look at Venus or Mars. It sounds like the perfect bonding experience for dads and kids. I’m sure Jeffrey and Budster will be happy to turn their eyes to the sky as they observe tiny life under the microscope.

Building kits. I think that years from now our children will remember their father always building, repairing and tinkering. He likes to show them how to build things, and can entice a three-year-old to do most things by promising that he can build something with daddy later. They like simple projects that come together quickly.

Handmade Gift Ideas For Dads (many Of Which Take 60 Minutes Or Less To Make!)

This wooden catapult set is awesome and my yummy friends absolutely love filling this wooden candy maze with treats!

We’re also looking at metal kits, but we’ll probably wait a few more years until the Budster is old enough to meaningfully participate in these complex projects. The kits include Star Wars, Star Trek and Transformers themes for fans, as well as more general ones such as ships or insects.

Water gun set for father and children. If you happen to be walking by our house on a hot summer day and hear screams from the backyard, don’t worry! We often cool off with a big family water fight.

A few years ago I got my husband water guns for his birthday and we had fun chasing aliens. Geoffrey soon discovered all the quirks of his gun and thoroughly blew me away, but I remember him enjoying the childish joy of playing with guns! Since then, it has become a family tradition. But after three summers, the guns are finally broken, so we need a new one.

Kite. Flying a kite requires special skills, but it’s always beautiful to watch, so dads and kids can form the perfect kite flying team. A year ago my dad seemed more interested in the kite we got than the Budster, but this year the Budster is having fun.

RC toys. Another toy that appeals to dads as much as kids! Geoffrey is a DIY guy with no interest in technology or vehicles. So it came as a surprise when he fondly mentioned playing with radio-controlled toys. Admittedly, he was more interested in flying vehicles, which look pretty cool! If dad likes the idea of flying in a helicopter, I can imagine our son will be absolutely crazy about it.

Information books with lots of pictures and photos for fathers and children. The topic of the book depends, of course, on the shared interests of father and children. Jeffrey and Budster like to read books about animals together. Last year I got them this Farm Anatomy book – a colorful and fascinating illustrated reference to farm life. Although its content is mainly pictures (from tractors to different species of animals and plants), it is not strictly aimed at children and offers a lot of fun statistics and numbers. This year I’m watching Natural Anatomy!

Matching clothes for dad and kids. Our son is at the age where compatibility is so exciting and his joy is contagious. I think he would like a shirt like dad’s and it’s nice to see them dressed alike. Dad put our old one to bed, so I think pajamas or a pajama shirt would be fine. How about these Star Wars shirts for my fans like my boys? Or are these computer related? These dinosaur shirts are cute too!
