Star Wars The Vintage Collection Mandalorian Cara Dune Toy Action Figure – Here is the third carbonized figure in the wave, having already reviewed the Remnant Stormtrooper and Imperial Death Trooper figures. Both were fully armed characters, soldiers at that. The carbonized effect may give you pause, but you can go through your screens as well, as long as you don’t place them next to their properly decorated counterparts.

Here we have the first, and I believe the only, carbonized figure (including the Sixer line) that has a bare skin face and other parts. We’ve all probably wondered how the process will turn out. Well, it looks like Hasbro got on board with it, and simply carbonized the clothes and accessories, but not the face and bare arms. Again, the figure sculpt is identical to the original it is based on, the VC164 Cara Dune.

This version is the same as the original, with the exception of the carbon shade and packaging. To me, the extra paint treatment makes the figure’s clothes look wet, maybe with a little extra shine. This might make it the most realistically rendered wet figure that Hasbro has ever made. It could be perfect if you want to recreate the scene in S1:E4 “Sanctuary”, where Cara Dune is caught in the water by the Raider AT-ST. Amazingly, you can actually pull off that scene, as Hasbro kindly provided us with that vehicle. Sure, we only have one Raider that came with him, and we still don’t have Cara’s partner in real Beskar armor, but still. that’s something. Side by side, this new version is definitely brighter than its VC164 counterpart, but you may be able to show it somewhere in the scene, even if it is not half submerged in water.

Like the other carbon figures we’ve reviewed, this one has a double thickness cardboard with a foil effect. Otherwise, the artwork is identical.

For an extra $5, you get the privilege of owning a glitter version of one of the few figures Hasbro has made (so far) from The Mandalorian – that is, if you can find it. Kudos to Hasbro for doing something to coincide with Season 2, even if it’s not exactly what most of us want.
