Samsung Q60a Series (2021) Review: Qled Tv Brings Out Hdr Brightness, Color
If you want good image quality without developing or speed, the Q60A is a good choice.
Of course, being a cheaper option in this year’s Samsung QLED lineup doesn’t mean it’s cheap at all. The 43-inch version of this TV is also now $600; imagine, you can get a very good 4K/HDR TV in a larger format for that money.
However, performance is not what you pay for in the Q60A. Its beautiful design is unmatched in this price range, and Samsung’s experience with quantum dots makes it a brilliant color. If you want quality images without design or speed, the Q60A is the best choice if you know why you are paying more. A few things to keep in mind about the Q60A TVs if you’re missing a few of the great features of the Q90A series. You won’t get the 120Hz refresh rate with the Q60A series (especially important for fast content like games and sometimes sports), or Samsung’s new mini-LED flash. However, you still get 4K resolution, quantum dot color, and a bunch of other cool stuff.

Samsung Q60b Qled Tv Review: Quantum Dots For Less
In my opinion, where a TV like the Q60A stands out (in this price range) is that it looks like a more expensive TV. Of course, the picture quality is the most important thing, but there is no denying that this is a beautiful TV, too.
Despite having a dual LED light – more on that below – the Q60A strikes a slim side profile and is dressed in Samsung’s usual slim bezels, glossy plastic and sharp corners. As with most of Samsung’s TVs in the past few years, installation does not require a screwdriver: you just slide the wide leg straight into the eye. You can see all the ports in a vertical order on the back of the TV.
The Q60A’s wide legs fit into the eye without the use of driver screws, making assembly easy.
The included remote is also great. You get Samsung’s new eco-friendly Solar Cell with Q60A TVs. The old battery operated Sammy works like a remote, but without (batteries). Instead, it charges indoors or outdoors, or via USB.

Overall, the whole package here is sleek and practical, if not flashy. For less money, you can get similar performance from TCL or Vizio models, but you won’t pay as much for the design.

In terms of TV performance, the Samsung Q60A does not set records, but that is because the elements of HDR TVs are usually good. With a 4K/HDR TV in this category, we’re looking for good contrast, high brightness, and color continuity to cover the bases, and there’s less to come here.
Tests have shown that during SDR (non-HDR, high dynamic range) content, the Q60A creates an average black level for LED / LCD TVs thanks to its VA panel, bright light, and quantum dots. Including Samsung’s suite of MEMC (motion detection/compensation) controls, you get 4K resolution and performance here.
Samsung Q80a Qled Tv Review: Close, But No Cigar
For HDR content, the Q60A TVs are good, but they won’t blow you away like high-end models. The resolution is just over 400 points, which is better than a non-HDR TV, but nowhere near the set equipped with a small light this year.
In terms of lighting, Samsung says its 2021 QLED TVs use “warm” and “cool” LEDs (referring to the color temperature or white balance) to “enhance color and balance.” According to Samsung.
Although the company is on the same page regarding color (the Q60A has excellent color for its price), the brightness and blacks you get won’t improve much. They are not interested, but that is what we want from the price and breed. Therefore, the whole package is a TV that emits a variety of realistic content, rich colors and detailed information.
If the Q60A TVs are a little more expensive than the average month, because on top of their beautiful design and full screen functionality, you will get good performance and many features. On the one hand, the Q60A TVs are a “diet” version of our previously tested Q90A. They have a slightly lower processor and fewer features, but they still get the job done.
