Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Lite – Samsung seems determined to dominate the Android device market by introducing devices of various sizes. There are Galaxy smartphones that include the premium S line, the Mini line and the recently announced Mega line. The Galaxy Tab is available in sizes between 7 and 10.1 inches. For the Galaxy Note lineup, there’s the Note I, Note II, Note 10.1, and here I have the Note 8 LTE (GT-N5120) for review.
One of the first questions consumers often ask is: What’s different about the Note 8 and Tab 7.0/7.7 models other than the S-Pen? I hope my review addresses this discrepancy.
Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Lite
The Note 8.0 uses the same plastic material as other Tab and Note models. Power, volume and IR are on the right side, MicroSIM and microSD are on the left. The stereo speakers, micro USB port and S-Pen sit at the bottom, with the headphone jack at the top. It also has the usual touch buttons and home button below the screen.

The significant difference with the Note 8.0 is that it works on the smartphone interface, not the tablet. This means the Note 8.0 has a taskbar at the top that can be slid down to reveal a full-screen notification panel.
The effect of using a phone interface with a tablet interface is the screen layout. Android apps interpret the Note 8.0 as a phone interface and therefore display as such. In the example below, you can see that the fonts are bigger, there are more spaces for each element, and the apps show a single-column content feed instead of multiple columns.
The best thing about Note 8.0 is that it has everything you need from Android. It can be a phone that you hold to your ear and answer calls. It can be a tablet because it is big enough for you to consume content. It’s even a remote control for your TV!
The 8-inch screen is a better size for running multi-window apps and taking notes using the S-Pen than the 5.5-inch Note II, although I found it a bit difficult to type on the smooth glass surface. Although not quite like Keith Nakamura’s doodles, the S-Pen is just as good as a mouse for precise navigation and clicks. On top of that, the S-Pen helps you take quick screenshots, enable pop-ups for quick notes, and hover over items to preview content. What other device allows me to take notes, browse websites, and listen to music at the same time?

The Galaxy S4 is one of the best Android smartphones in the market, while the Galaxy Note 8.0 wins the honor of the best Android tablet. With an attractive price of S$788 and support for 4G LTE network (the Wi-Fi version only costs S$588), the Note 8.0 would be perfect without its mediocre 5-megapixel camera. It also doesn’t include many of the Galaxy S4’s new non-touch improvements. If they still included these features, the Note 8.0 cannibalize Samsung’s Android smartphones and tablets. The Galaxy Note 10 Lite is slowly becoming one of Samsung’s most anticipated smartphones, and almost a month before its official launch, the phone’s official specs have leaked.
Confirming earlier rumors that the phone will be a revamped Galaxy Note 9 in many respects, the detailed specs include last year’s branded Exynos 9810 chipset, paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
This configuration should provide an impressive level of performance, and the amount of storage should be enough for most people. Otherwise, Samsung is said to support microSD cards up to 512GB, with a maximum storage capacity of 640GB.
Like the company’s latest devices, the Galaxy Note 10 Lite ships with Android 10 and One UI 2.0 right out of the box. The software is paired with a massive 4,500mAh battery that supports 25W fast charging but no wireless charging and complements the punch-hole centered 6.7-inch Infinity-O display.

The panel itself uses Samsung’s popular AMOLED technology and uses the curved edges of the high-end Galaxy Note 10 models for flat models. It also supports Full HD+ (2400 x 1080p) resolution and S Pen input via the included stylus, which is said to be the same as the Galaxy Note 10.
Other notable features include the in-screen fingerprint scanner that Samsung has previously removed from its flagship models, support for 4G LTE networks, and the much-loved 3.5mm headphone jack.
All of the above comes with a modified rear panel that looks like it’s molded from plastic. It also has a new rectangular camera module with three sensors and an LED flash.
Earlier rumors suggested that the phone would come with a 48-megapixel main camera, but in reality, Samsung has gone with a higher-resolution 12-megapixel main sensor, which offers an f/1.7 aperture and supports the technology. Two-pixel autofocus.

That camera will be joined by another 12-megapixel sensor, though this time it’s paired with an ultra-wide-angle lens and supports an f/2.2 aperture. A 5-megapixel depth sensor at the back was to complete the photography experience.
But Samsung has chosen to narrow the gap between the Lite-branded model and its flagships, equipping the phone with a 12-megapixel telephoto camera that enables 2x optical zoom. Separately, it is worth mentioning that the phone has a 32-megapixel selfie camera.
As for the features, the Galaxy Note 10 Lite supports 4K video recording at 60fps. Additionally, and just like the Galaxy S9, a Super Slow Motion mode is expected.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Lite is expected to launch in mid-January alongside the slightly more powerful Galaxy S10 Lite. Availability is initially limited to India and neighboring Asian markets, but it is believed that Western Europe will be able to get the phone by the end of the month.

A recent report revealed that the phone will cost €629 in some European markets and €619 in others. However, a correction has been made and it now costs €609 in some countries and €599 in others.
This compares sharply with the premium Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Note 10+, which cost €949/€959 and €1,199/€1,209 continental respectively at launch. It also means the phone is significantly cheaper than the Galaxy S10 Lite, which is expected to cost €669/€679 across Europe.
