Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Gsm Arena – Google’s latest April security patch is now rolling out to several Samsung Galaxy flagship devices. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2 series, Galaxy S21 and Galaxy Note10 are now receiving the new OTA, even Google’s Pixel devices – which usually receive Android updates on the first Monday of the month. Although all devices receive the same patch, not all of them are going to see the same changes.
Starting with the Galaxy S21 series, Samsung’s latest flagship gets a 1GB update that brings performance and camera improvements. The update allows the phones’ portrait modes to take photos using the main camera – as noted by SamMobile. Before that, portrait photos could only be taken with a telephoto or wide-angle camera. The update is already visible in India.

Next, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2 update does not reveal any drastic differences. All updates seem to be incremental improvements that happen deep in the background. According to XDA-Developers, the update has already rolled out to Germany and Russia.

Finally, the Galaxy Note10 series is seeing the same update in Germany as well. Like the Z Fold2, this one doesn’t have any major changes either. Samsung has the best stylus implementation for smartphones – not that there’s much competition – but it comes at a price. Previously, it was only available on Galaxy Note phones, which were Samsung’s most expensive phones at the time. These days it’s available with the Galaxy S Ultra and Z Fold models, along with the premium Galaxy Tab S models, none of which are cheap (some Galaxy Book laptops also support it).
There was one exception in early 2020 – the Samsung Galaxy Note10 Lite. It was unveiled on the same day as the S10 Lite we covered last time and shared some similarities (beyond price), though it also had some notable differences.
We will start with the exhibition. It was a 6.7-inch panel with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,400 pixels, the same basic dimensions as the S10 Lite’s screen. However, this panel included an additional digital layer that allowed the S Pen stylus to do its thing.
And Samsung has used a nice new Bluetooth-enabled S Pen, as opposed to the purely passive style of the older Notes. This made it possible to use the S Pen remotely, e.g. Remotely take a photo or control a music player. It wasn’t as advanced as the one used in the Note10+ and Note10, as it lacked gestures. Still, it was miles ahead of the typical capacitive stylus you get with other phones.

The S Pen has fast stylus tracking (faster than finger recognition) and can sense how hard you press down (4096 levels) to adjust the pen or brush style you’re using.
True to its name, the phone was always ready to jot down a note – just pull out the S Pen and start writing on the lock screen. Handwriting recognition can automatically turn your notes into digital text that you can easily copy and share.
Compared to the premium Note10 duo six months ago, the Galaxy Note10 Lite was larger than the vanilla model (6.7″ display vs. 6.3″) and slightly smaller than the Plus model (which had a 6.8″ screen). Unlike both, the screen was flat, so you You could take a picture from edge to edge.
Galaxy Note10 Lite vs. Note 9 is a more appropriate comparison. The price of the old flagship had dropped by the time the Lite arrived, and both cost about the same. And both had the same Exynos 9810 chipset, although the older Note9 was available with the Snapdragon 845 in some regions. The Note10 Lite was an Exynos-only model.

As you may remember from last time, the Galaxy S10 Lite was the opposite, it was a Snapdragon-only phone, which was an interesting change for regions that are used to having Exynos.
The S10 Lite also offers an interesting point of comparison. It and the Note10 Lite had the same screen dimensions — 6.7″, 1,080 x 2,400 pixels — and the same 4,500 mAh battery. However, in our tests, the S Phone got a durability score of 110 hours, compared to the Note’s 92 hours. OK, the display panels aren’t exactly the same, which might have helped, but the 10nm Exynos chip was definitely showing its age against the 7nm Snapdragon 855.
The Note also omitted the faster 45W charging that was available on the S10 Lite and Note10+. It had a bigger battery compared to other notes, however, e.g. The Plus had more than 4,300 mAh in the tank. Still, with the latest Exynos 9825, it lasted 107 hours in our endurance test (the 9825 was a 7nm part, down from the 8nm 9820 used in some Galaxy S10 models).
The Galaxy Note10 Lite had a triple 12-megapixel camera on the back, including a 52mm 2x telephoto lens, which was absent from the S10 Lite. It uses the same 1/2.55″ sensor size (1.4 µm pixels) as the Note10 premium models, along with Dual Pixel AF and OIS, although the dual aperture feature is not used. However, the older chipset was not as capable when it came to video capture .

A few other things to note are the microSD slot and 3.5mm headphone jack – the Note10 Lite had them, though the Premium Note10 duo was the first in the family to lose them.
There were a few things that made the Note10 Lite, well, a Lite model. These include a plastic back panel (previously it was Gorilla Glass 3 and the chassis was metal, however), no IP rating for dust or water resistance, no USB 3 port, and no stereo speakers.
The S Pen was bigger than the Galaxy Note series, but the S Ultra model is so different from the vanilla phones that it might as well be called a Note. The stylus can also be found on Samsung’s premium tablets (and some laptops) and has been adapted to work with foldable screens as well.
One segment that hasn’t been covered — at least not since the Galaxy Note10 Lite — is more affordable phones. More affordable than the flagships, however, the Note10 Lite wasn’t that cheap. It really depends, in Europe it was only €50 less than the smaller Note10, in India it was half the price of the Note10.

After updating to Android 13, note 10 lite is almost useless, sometimes I want to throw it out the window. Battery life is worse, system works worse, everything is slow and worse, I’m trying to find something that’s updated, but I can’t find anything.. .
I’ve used the Note, Note 2, Note 4 (my favorite, still alive and in use (both versions)), LG V35 with external stylus, and now I’m using the S10 with external styluses. But why doesn’t GNUSMAS release Note 20 lite or Note Fan Edition or …
Wow… reading the article from my Note10 lite makes me feel like I’m going to buy it again (then of course)…. IMO the cameras are pretty good (except for the sky color handling at sunset/sunrise) the telephoto is very capable and .. .
