Samsung India on Tuesday launched its all-new smartphone Galaxy C9 Pro with 6GB RAM, 16MP front and rear cameras and 6″ FHD sAMOLED display. Featuring an all-metal unibody body, Galaxy C9 Pro is designed for consumers who demand more from their smartphones.

In terms of design, the Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro shows that the phablet has been done right. If we were to buy a phone with a large screen (which is very likely), we would definitely want it to be extremely thin and as compact as possible. These are the features you will find in the C9 Pro. The elegant all-metal back and the front with 2.5D glass coating are additional advantages. Weighing 189 grams, it’s definitely not light, but it’s still manageable for a large phone.

This is basically a stereo speaker handset, as the earpiece on the front can also transmit the sound. However, the sound output is quite weak. The other speaker placed at the bottom works fine. Around the perimeter, you’ll also find a USB Type-C port, 3.5mm audio jack, power button, volume keys, a dedicated SD card slot, and dual SIM trays.
Since the volume rocker is placed near the top left corner, it becomes inaccessible when using your phone with one hand. This isn’t a deal breaker because the C9 Pro wasn’t intended to be one-handed friendly in the first place. Additionally, the volume buttons are easily accessible while watching videos in landscape mode.
The front home button is equipped with a fingerprint sensor, which is not as accurate as we would like.
C9 Pro has a full HD AMOLED display. Of course, QHD would be better considering the screen size and type, but when we compared it side by side with the relatively smaller OnePlus 3T screen with the same FHD resolution, the difference in sharpness was almost negligible.

Samsung uses a high-quality and well-calibrated panel for the Galaxy C9 Pro. Quality AMOLED high contrast makes it ideal for consuming video content. The “always on” display allows you to monitor time, battery percentage, and control the number of notifications so you don’t turn on your phone too often. You can disable it at any time from quick settings. And the screen is perfectly readable in direct sunlight.
On the downside, there have been a lot of accidental touches that we’ve had to deal with while using it over the last few weeks. That’s perhaps a small price to pay for stunning narrow frames.
The Galaxy C9 Pro is powered by a 1.9GHz octa-core Snapdragon 653 chipset or a minor Snapdragon 652 upgrade. It’s not the best you can get for the price, but it’s good enough for more than most people will need. The phone isn’t as fast as, say, the OnePlus 3T, but it does everything we need it to do with ease. Almost.
Asphalt 8 didn’t run flawlessly at high graphics settings, but other than that, all the other games we tested ran just fine. We also did not notice any lag in daily use.

The phone won’t top the benchmark lists in any respect, but the practical usage experience is flagship-level. Also, a sufficient amount of free RAM makes multitasking very easy.
The TouchWiz user interface on the C9 Pro is close to that on the Galaxy Note 7. As always on the screen, Samsung-signed add-ons, UDS, S power planning are also available. So are a bunch of Microsoft and Samsung apps you don’t need. This can significantly reduce onboard storage.
If you can look past the clutter, the TouchWiz UI is actually quite advanced and has all the right options in the right places. But we couldn’t resist the urge to replace the launcher.
The Galaxy C9 Pro’s camera (and software) lacks some key features like OIS and laser AF, but it makes the most of what it does have. You can capture detailed images in good outdoor lighting, but the camera sometimes struggles to find focus. Camera performance is good enough in low light, but there’s definitely a lot of room for improvement here, especially at the price. In comparison, OnePlus 3T, Vivo V5 Plus and Huawei P9 are miles ahead.

The 4000 mAh battery on the phone can easily last a day with the remaining battery percentage that does not require immediate charging. On particularly demanding days when we have to do a lot with our phones and mostly keep 4G working, we have to make sure the phone is 100 percent charged at the beginning of the day. Battery backup is above average when compared to other popular phones in this budget.
Call quality is excellent in our area. The sound output from the headphones is impressive. The fingerprint sensor is not accurate and this can be very annoying.
