About this Samsung Galaxy A51 review: I used the Galaxy A51 for six days with Google Fi throughout the review period. The phone runs One UI 2.1 operating system with Android 10 operating system.
The Samsung Galaxy A51 is made of a material that Samsung calls “Glasstic”. This gives it a higher quality feel than an all-plastic phone. But it’s not as premium as the Samsung Galaxy S21 series. It’s still plastic, but I don’t think it’s nearly as plastic as other phones in this price range. The phone is sleek but not slick and light at just 158 grams. For comparison, OnePlus 9 Pro weighs 197 grams.
The edges of the device are aluminum, giving it a premium feel. On the right side, you’ll find the power button and volume rocker. It has a USB-C port, speakers, and a headphone jack at the bottom.The left side of the phone has a dual-SIM card tray. It can accommodate two SIM cards and an SD card up to 512GB, and most phones double up to a second slot to allow for a SIM card or microSD card. I really like the color and the carefree design on the back of the device. This is definitely different. And I love phones with attractive colors. The model I have is the Prism Crush Black, which emits a brilliant glow when hit with light from the right angle. The speaker on the phone is too loud. but no bass I wouldn’t use a speaker to listen to music. The headphone jack is a huge plus.
For a phone under $400, the Samsung Galaxy A51 has a surprisingly good display. Most mid-range phones use LCD instead of OLED, but Samsung managed to fit a large OLED screen with a relatively dense pixel count. Samsung Galaxy A51 Review: A Good Screen Paired With Not So Good Performance
The Samsung Galaxy A51 has a huge 4000 mAh battery, a low-power processor and a small amount of RAM. Hopefully the device has a long battery life. Honestly, it’s not bad, but it’s not that good. The phone lasted about 29 hours, from 8:00 AM one day to 1:00 PM the next. It’s not as good as a phone with a bigger battery. But I’m glad I can at least use it for a full day. I got about four and a half hours of screen time on this device.
The A51 supports 15W, which isn’t the fastest. Considering the original Google Pixel was only 18W in 2016, that seems a bit slow for 2020. Samsung Galaxy S20 flagship devices these days are powered by 25W by default. So I’d like to see at least 18W on the Galaxy A51.

This regimen also tends to soften the skin more than I would like.
The selfie camera is also very good with good dynamic range and colors. Accuracy is very good. But there are also oversaturated colors like green and blue.
The MSRP of the Samsung Galaxy A51 has dropped to just $349.99 and can be had for less. If you shop around, you can easily find a phone under $300. At this price point, it’s hard to ignore the value that Samsung delivers on its phones.
