To be honest, choosing the best SIM card in Singapore is both easy and difficult! It’s easy because there are only 3 major mobile operators in Singapore, namely Singtel, M1 and StarHub.

Based on my past experience, I think StarHub is the most competitive service provider, with their competitors they usually provide better value compared to other service providers. But I feel that they have many promotions, add-ons, bonuses and different exchange rates. Some promotions last for a long time, others disappear after a while.
With variables constantly changing, it is difficult to make the right decision when trying to choose the best StarHub card or the best StarHub plans. For simplicity, I recommend ignoring all bonuses when deciding which card/package is best.

Different people have different sitting times, data usage and other preferences. To put it simply, I assume that short-haul travelers are leisure travelers who use a good amount of internet (1GB to 3GB) daily for navigation, on-the-go research and social media.

For short-term trips, I would compare SIM cards that offer at least 80GB, which is more than enough for a month’s stay in Singapore.
If you think you don’t fall into this category because you can live without internet while traveling in Singapore, you can skip this section and go to the next section where I talk about prepaid standard SIM cards for long-distance travelers .
* M1 has 2 very similar SIM cards, $12 and $14. Since the $14 M1 SIM is selling for SGD 9.70 at the time of writing and can be picked up at the airport, I wouldn’t even consider the $12 M1 SIM (since there’s no promotion and you can’t pick it up at the airport).
Case 1: If you are visiting Singapore for up to 10 days, you can get a $12 tourist SIM from Singtel/StarHub/M1 Tourist SIM. But I personally prefer StarHub’s $12 Travel Offer SIM card (100GB for 10 days) because you can pick it up anytime from Changi Airport Terminal 1/2/3/4.

For Singtel, you can collect it only at Terminal 3 (24 hours); and M1 can only be covered by T1/2/3 at certain times at Changi Airport.
Example 2: If you are visiting Singapore for 11-14 days, you can get a Singtel $12 hi!Tourist SIM card or a prepaid M1 Tourist SIM card $14. Again, consider the location and time of collection.
