Galaxy S20 Fe 5g Gsmarena – Why did Samsung build the Galaxy S20 FE and S20 FE 5G? How did you decide what features to include? What features did it include? The answers to these questions and more can be found in the Q&A video below as well as in the accompanying infographic.

Samsung wanted a device with the main features of the S20 phones but at a cheaper price that better fits the current economic situation. The team conducted customer surveys in the US, UK, Germany, Australia and South Korea – the top 3 features voted by camera fans were performance and display.

If you currently have a Galaxy S20 FE, it will come with Android 10 out of the box. You can hold on to the phone for a while because Samsung has promised 3 OS updates – for the FE and for many of its flagship devices (here’s the full list).

The infographic below is good for detailed information about the Fan Edition phone, but it actually has a lot of details for almost every aspect of the phone.

Yes, and apart from that 8k is a gimmick, s20 fe has wireless charging, although I see that this is also a trick, curved screen I had enough, smooth edges much better, just something dynamic, but it’s so fucking important ? I mean I can set it manually…

A very pathetic attempt by Samsung to show how they are in touch with their fans… but are we really serious about this? Did fans help create a phone without a headphone jack? Give me a break Samsung.

The Samsung Galaxy S20 Fe Officially Comes With 4g And 5g Versions, 6.5

Spot on… Comments on Exynos as if everyone needed a phone to play PUBG 4h a day… And then someone else comes and says that the phone is too expensive because S20 will cost second hand less.. But others complain about the bloatware and heavy skin, while … The Galaxy S20 Fan Edition comes with a different camera system than the S20 and S20 +. That is to say that two out of three models are different, the main unit is the same. That uses a 12MP sensor with large 1.8µm pixels behind an f/1.8 aperture lens. Image stabilization and dual-pixel autofocus are also on the list of features.

The ultra wide angle cam covers a moderately larger field of view than you get with the other S20s – albeit at 123 degrees vs. 120 degrees and with the software correction considered, this is barely a difference. The aperture on it is f / 2.2 as on the other models, and like them it has no automatic focus. The resolution is also the same – 12MP. The big difference here is in pixel and sensor size – the FE has smaller pixels at 1.12µm on a smaller 1/3″ sensor, next to the 1.4µm and 1/2.55″ numbers of the S20 and S20 spec sheet +.

After the telephoto. The FE is equipped with an 8MP telephoto camera that has an equivalent focal length of 76mm. Measured by the 26mm of the main camera, this is a 2.9x zoom that can pass for 3x in our book. This camera has an f/2.4 aperture lens and small 1.0µm pixels. Compare that to the 1.07x optical zoom and 64MP resolution of the “tele” S20 that makes a move in software.

At the front, another change awaits. The Fan Edition gets a 32MP Quad Bayer sensor for selfies, instead of the standard 10MP unit on the S20 and S20+. This has the same f/2.2 aperture and the same 25mm focal length, but there is one notable drawback – autofocus is missing.

The S20 FE gets the familiar Samsung Camera app which is simple and easy to use. The basics are the same – swiping left and right will switch between the available modes, and there is an option to rearrange, add or remove some of the modes from the viewer. Live streams will switch between the front and rear cameras.

The familiar designation of the zoom control shaft is also there – three shafts for ultra wide, two shafts for man cam (medium wide) and a single shaft for telephoto. As before, once you tap the single-tree toggle, an additional set of buttons will appear, with additional default zoom levels at 2x, 4x, 10x, 20x, and 30x. Pinch to zoom is also available.

The selfie zoom levels on the FE adopt the logic that Samsung has been using for a while and we’ve been complaining about for a while. By default, you get a cropped view equivalent to a 32mm focal length and the resulting 6.5MP image. To get full camera coverage, you need to tap the zoom toggle.

The viewer has the usual set of icons with the settings wheel located in the upper left corner of the screen. The usual things like video resolution, grid lines, position data, etc., can be found in the menu, as well as the ultra-wide lens correction, covered in the “Save settings” section. You can also enable and disable the scene optimizer globally. HDR is handled in the new way we had with the S20s – it’s Auto HDR on or off, but it’s missing a critical setting.

There is also a Pro mode and the FE gets the full, compared to the shorter version in smaller models. We appreciate the granular exposure controls and manual focus with peaking, but there’s still no live histogram or the ability to operate the telephoto or ultra-wide cameras.

In daylight and with its main camera, the Galaxy S20 FE takes similar but different photos compared to the S20+ we had in hand. Remember that it is a Snapdragon Fan Edition compared to a regular edition of Exynos, so a change of chipset could affect the transformation as other possible variables.

The FE shots have a narrower dynamic range – certainly not the impressive results of the S20+. Colors aren’t as vibrant and if you’re a fan of Samsung’s signature colorful look, the FE might be a bit too muted for you.

None of this is to say that the Fan Edition takes bad pictures, it doesn’t. They are sharp and detailed and, as we have come to expect from Samsung – almost no noise. And for all our preferences for punchier colors, those outside of the FE are more accurate than the S20+.

The ultra wide camera is not the same, so at least what the differences are there, they are expected. The most restrictive colors on the FE are among them, which the theme continues. Interestingly, the FE’s ultra-wide is also a bit sharper – not by much, but it’s noticeable. The dynamic range is almost the same between the two.

By default, software distortion correction is enabled by default. We keep it that way, unless the artistic expression requires the bulding aspect which is not right.

The other new feature on the Fan Edition is the telephoto camera. Interestingly, it also produces images of 12MP, and as best we can say that these are upscaled rather than being a link between the TV for the center and the main camera for the margin.

In terms of sharpness, the results are comparable between Fan Edition and S20 +. The sound performance is much better on the FE, although not FE has a wider dynamic range.

Samsung Galaxy S20 Fe 5g Review: Lab Tests

The S20 FE’s telephoto camera is a pretty good close-up shooter — we wouldn’t call it macro. It can focus up to around 20cm giving you more detailed shots with a distortion-free view – better than what comes out of the main camera in this range. Just make sure to cover the main camera with your finger to make sure you catch it when it turns on.

In low light, the images from the main FE camera are more similar to the results of the S20 +, more so than in the daytime. If we have to point out the small differences, the S20 + does a better job of including the highlights around the light sources as we look at it. the pixel level, the FE has a bit more detail and a bit more noise to go with that.

Switch both phones to Night mode, and you’ll be hard pressed to find a difference between them. You’ll get almost identical detail and almost identical sound from either. The retention of the highlights is also the same, as is the enhancement of the low-mid tones. The results of the night mode are textbook if applied a little conservatively.

After sunset, the ultra-wide rate of FE is a little better in some ways than that of the S20 +, as counterintuitive as it may be. It stops at saturation, while the S20+ images look colorful. The more aggressive noise reduction on the FE leaves much less noise to be observed, although the S20+ has a bit more detail between the noise particles. All in all, it is not the fall that we thought it could be, how wide is this.
