I quickly noticed a color difference in the reconstructed Z footage. When I showed a few screenshots to a friend to find out about the Japanese Kai Blu-ray, he actually looked at it right away so I could take a screenshot for comparison.

Each version has its own quirks and I’m sure arguments over which of the three has superior colors will continue for years. It would also be interesting to know who edited each version and why the changes were made (did Funi or Toei edit their versions? If so, why Blu-ray and not DVD?)
After comparing the images, I decided to take a look at the entry, which has a completely new animation. Each of these is also different in the intro, but in different ways than in the episode itself, suggesting that each intro was edited separately from the episode. (Click to view full size)
For the refreshed graphics, you could argue that one of the two might be better based on how you feel about the color overall, but for the all-new animation, the US Blu-ray looks clearly superior.
