If you’ve used them before, you’ll know that I usually test and review affordable true wireless headphones – you can find over 200 reviews on this site. But with PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X entering the market and having to stay at home a lot because of a certain virus, I decided to get the cheapest gaming headsets for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X and Xbox. One, Nintendo Switch and phones.

Over the years, I’ve tested and compared more than 25 budget gaming headsets. I entered this challenge with no particular love or loathing of any particular brand or product. All gaming headsets have been tested, compared and rated 100% accurate in my opinion. Let’s go!

The Kingston HyperX Cloud II is probably the most popular $100 gaming headset out there, and for good reason. It mixes sturdy plastic with shiny metal parts for excellent build quality. It comes with a well-padded headband and two sets of ear pads; The leather pads are original and the headphones are very soft and comfortable. With the latter, the Cloud II is comfortable for several hours. The microphone quality could be better: it’s too soft out of the box, and once it’s out, your voice sounds a little too clear. It sounds so clear – people will hear you easily.

The sound quality of the popular Cloud II is impressive, with rich bass and balanced mids – loud enough to hear footsteps. The mids can be sharp at times during action moments, but for the most part it’s a pleasant listen. Sound placement is further to the left than your surroundings, but the darker Tronsmart Alpha and HyperX Cloud Stinger have an edge in competitive multiplayer games. The Cloud II does a great job of separating game sounds from voice chat, but it’s easy to hear them clearly at the same time.

Note that the volume and mute controls require USB and software, so are only available for PC and Mac users. No volume control or mute button when dialing your controller – 1 point deducted from total score.

The HyperX Cloud II is the best gaming headset under $100, with great comfort, two sets of ear cushions, and great sound and voice chat quality.

The Tronsmart (Glary) Alpha is probably made of cheap plastic, and it can be had for a cheap price. The larger design is incredibly comfortable thanks to the band structure consisting of two different pads on the head instead of a tight band connecting the two large ear tips. It feels quite heavy – but it’s not too tight and you can comfortably wear this style for hours. But you can’t adjust the headband, so it’s not great for smaller heads. The Alfa has excellent microphone quality: your voice sometimes cracks on the highest notes, but background noise is superbly reduced while you sound nice, loud and clear.

However: the sound quality is the real star of the show. Unlike many other models, the Alfa does not overemphasize the mid tones. Footsteps around you sound darker than the loudest mid-focus headphones, but these mid-focus headphones sound too warm and annoyingly bright when the action gets going. Glary Alpha preserves details even in crowded environments. And what detail is offered! Extended bass and low frequencies make the sound full and rich, resolving even the slightest background noise. Sound positioning is excellent: you don’t hear action happening just to the left or right; You hear sounds everywhere, even from far away. etc. in games

The Best Gaming Headsets Under $100 Of 2023

With excellent microphone clarity, rich warm sound and excellent sound localization, the Tronsmart Alpha is perfect for single player gaming, playing with friends and competitive gaming.

Better shopping for under $25? The Mpow brand has two excellent offerings, the EG3 Pro and the EG10. Both are great options, but the EG10 is a more compact model that’s probably better for smaller heads.

Why is EG10 so good? It’s the cheapest headset we’ve tried, but the microphone is one of the best. It conveys your voice naturally, full and clear – even a little

To like Comfort is also adequate – light on the head, but the pillow could use a little more padding. In the sound department, the EG10 delivers a full, warm sound, with plenty of detail in the mids. It has a good soundstage, which means you can hear everything around you – but it can be difficult to pick up exactly where the action is.

For the price, the EG10 is a steal. If you prefer the EG3 Pro model (discussed below), please select that model instead.

The Tronsmart Glary Alpha may have the most accurate sound positioning in the test; If you need to hear even the softest footsteps in the grass or sand around you (if you are playing, etc.

The Stinger’s greatly improved midrange allows you to hear gunfire and movement from far away, even while chatting with your teammates at the same time. The mid-range tone can sometimes sound a little harsh when there’s a lot of action going on, but it’s worth it to gain your competitive edge. The microphone makes your voice muffled and shallow, and its output is still quite clear. Also, the Cloud Spike can feel a bit plasticky – although they are a bit tight around the head, the cushion is thick enough to make them comfortable to wear.

The EG3 Pro is another great gaming headset offered by Mpow alongside the EG10. The EG3 Pro is a heavier, sturdier design with a solid feel and metal parts connecting the ear cups and ear cups. It may be too big for small heads, but for most people, the thick, large cushions will fall comfortably around the ears. Again, the microphone makes your voice loud and full, but it loses some of the ringing that comes with your voice on the EG10. When it comes to gaming sound, the EG3 Pro focuses more on midrange tones, making it easier to place the action on the left and right sides; Although this definition can make the sound a bit harsh at times – all headphones with enhanced headphones have this problem. Still a great performer for the money.

It’s slightly more expensive than the HyperX Cloud II, so you’d expect the Cloud Alpha to be better. It is only partially. Like a console, the Alpha has built-in mute and volume buttons, and the microphone delivers a fuller (but not clearer) sound than the Cloud II. In terms of comfort, it misses out on the cushioning option of the Cloud II, and the cushioning of the Alpha is quite comfortable, but not up to the soft cushion of the Cloud II.

The Cloud Alpha’s emphasis on bass and dark tones makes for a great single-player experience, but it lacks the high-note clarity of other HyperX models, making it easy to hear and place footsteps, voices and distant gunfire. Other models do a better job of separating game sounds from voice chat; It builds too much on the Alpha and sometimes makes it hard to hear people. It’s a great headset – just not as good as the Cloud II.

The EKSA E910 gaming headset is completely wireless and connects to a pre-supplied headset that connects to your PC, Mac, Switch or PlayStation – Xbox does not support this model. Comfortable to wear for a few hours, with thickly padded cushions and headband, stylish looking, well-designed headphones that can last up to +-8 hours on a USB-C charge. The mic could use a little more volume and warm up your voice, which is nice to hear, but hard to hear when other people are wearing bass-heavy headphones. The sound is warm, warm, clear, bright, bright, not a little filmy, bright and clear, but pleasant to listen to, especially when you hear darker sounds on the left, right or behind.
