TinkerCAD is a great starting point for young children, and our beginner’s lesson pack is based on that. Fusion 360 can also be used on Windows PC and Mac, and additionally there is an ‘edit in browser’ option so you can continue modeling in any web browser. As part of the curriculum we have created video tutorials to help teach challenging design lessons. This means that if the teacher is new to CAD modeling, the video can be played to the class instead of “teacher demonstrations”. Students can also watch clips and play them back to help with design challenges. A recent implementer of our curriculum explained the benefits of video clips. The UK National STEM Learning Center offers a national training program for teachers/technicians which is free to join. As most schools have a network, IT technicians will be best suited to complete this task. Once you get it, it’s easy to register for students.
