While all students are different – and you are the only one who knows how long it will take after you start – 6 months is usually the sweet spot for a student with daily study time, basic science and the necessary background. Jump up to 15 points.

The following plan is only a plan or reference as you adapt it to fit your specific situation and unique circumstances. Making plans and regularly evaluating them is one of the things we do in the MCAT study hall every week during office hours.

If you do not meet the above criteria. Stretch your study schedule to allocate more weeks with less study time each week, fewer science courses, or higher goals.

Remember, it’s better to take the MCAT on your own terms than to take the test before studying, spend 3030 days waiting for a score, and 30 days of grief before deciding to start over and try again!

At the end of the day, it’s not about achieving your goals quickly. Instead, you refuse to go to medical school!

With a 6-month plan, we look at 26 weeks of progress following a 3-step approach. We start in week 0 and your MCAT at the beginning of week 27.

We will include 2 buffer weeks, each in Phase 1 and Phase 2, to allow for no-fault termination in the event of a holiday, birthday, holiday, travel or illness/emergency.

Track & Field Calendar/schedule

I am an OK planner. Before I ran my first half marathon in November 2019, I wrote at least 10 training plans. I planned, refined, collected data and revised regularly to account for events and gaps (thanks ankle…).

I’m not asking you to be okay with this, but I recommend that you take the time to carefully plan your plan and be ready to go on Day 1.

You’re about to commit to half a year of this plan, and you can’t predict your goals. If you haven’t, take the full length and find out where you stand.

Remember, it’s not about “accepting your base” and worrying that you’ve forgotten everything because you’re just starting to learn. Instead, your main exam will help you understand exactly where you’re starting and get a real feel for the 7.5-hour MCAT experience.

For Anyone In Need Of Some Good Ole Hope

Do not use the full length of the official AAMC. These are the best, most realistic and very limited practice test materials. Save them for the end. Instead, check out the AAMC unverified sample test (google conversion calculator) or the free full-length from companies like Next Step (recommended) or Kaplan.

For this plan, we’ve set aside 12 weeks for Phase 1 so you can cover all the necessary MCAT content quickly and efficiently, but slowly enough to process, absorb, and truly understand the information.

This will be split into 9 full study weeks: 2 exam weeks with half-day content review and half-day exam review. We will ideally add 1 buffer week to complete Phase 1.

When Should I Take The Mcat In 2023?

This is a trial schedule for students with 30 hours per week. Study 5 hours a day from Monday to Friday. Then 8 hours at the weekend. That equates to 33 hours, but you’ll lose a few hours of breaks combined in 30 grids so you don’t get tired.

Carefully block and manage your study time, allow time for important things (school, work, family and other duties), and make sure you work after work.

Phase 1 CARS/Passengers should focus on reading quality, comprehension and endurance. Allocate 2 sessions each week to CARS and critical reading. If this is a known issue for you, or if CARS is your lowest scoring section, please share more.

Choose a day off where you don’t think about the MCAT. This is your “fun/fatigue insurance” day. Use this day to recharge, renew and be ready to start the next week even stronger.

Allocate the first 15 minutes to review (this topic, the coming weeks) and the last 15 minutes to active writing.

If you are following this plan and have >30 hours, consider adding another science block of 2 to 3.5 hours each day.

Ideally, you have made an average of 40% progress per subject. Not quite yet? At least moderate progress is good.

Mcat Study Schedule: How To Create The Perfect Plan

The purpose of the full length in the first phase is to see how you are progressing in terms of content. If you are missing passages/questions because we didn’t cover a certain topic, please send it to IT during the review. If you miss content questions, ask yourself:

‘What is in my present view? What should I do in terms of content for the rest of Phase 1? »

Take the full length at the beginning of the week (Sat, Sun or Mon). Do not revise on the exam day. Finish the exam and take the rest of your vacation. Watch a movie, go for a walk, RELAX!

If you are done reviewing in week 1, go back to week 4. If not, continue with ½ review and ½ exam until you have completely completed the exam.

How Long Do You Need To Study For The Mcat?

Week 6 Target: Average of 55% content in ALL subjects Week 7 Target: Average of 65% content in each subject Week 8 Target: Average of 75% content in ALL subjects Week 9 Target: Average of 85% content progress in EVERY subject Subject Week 10: Stage 1 in full length

If you get at least 25% more content than your last full length, take another full length at least 4 weeks later. If the last FL is late or if you advance +25%, roll back the schedule until you are ready.

Continue this schedule until the Exam Review + Review sheet is complete, then continue with the Standard Phase Content Review Schedule.

The last week of Phase 1 is a buffer or revision week, which is a big, ‘Am I ready for Phase 2?’ End with an assessment.

If you are stuck with the schedule and haven’t done anything: Use week 12 to familiarize yourself with the content to move on to the Phase 2 book under each block.

For example: your physics blog will be a quick overview of each physics chapter, chapter summaries or your notes.

If you miss a few days in Phase 1 due to vacation, travel, illness or emergency, use this week as a make-up week. This assumes you are more than a week behind.

Stop. Reassess your goals, estimate your average weekly progress, and extrapolate the number of weeks needed to complete Phase 1.

The 3 Month (100 Day) Mcat Study Schedule Guide: 2023 Edition

Let’s say you average 8% weekly progress through 60% of your content. At 40% progress, you need another 5 weeks to complete Phase 1.

Have I improved since my original exam? I have given all the content, now I think I have a solid foundation in all subjects? ❖ Do I remember at least half of my conditions/paths/equations? (AW continues to step 2) Did I miss an average of 10 content-related questions for the science section in the last FL? Do I feel confident enough with the content to go into rigorous practice?
