IQOO 9T has been officially launched in India. The IQOO 9T is the first smartphone in India to feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. The iQOO 9T in India is priced at $49,999 for the 8GB/128GB variant and $54,999 for the 12GB/256GB variant. Let’s take a closer look at the latest smartphones to hit Indian shores.
Moto G Stylus 5g Review: Great Specs For $500 But Limited Software Updates
Arguably, the iQOO 9T 5G is one of the best smartphones under Rs 50,000. The back of the handset has a black dual-tone bezel. The upper part of the back is shiny with a carbon fiber design, and the iQOO logo sits below with clear text and iQOO branding. There’s a large square camera island with three sensors and an LED flash. The phone is protected by an aluminum frame on the front and glass on the back. Finally, there’s an IP52 rating for some flash resistance and an ultrasonic fingerprint reader for good display speed.
For construction, the iQOO 9T opted for the standard power and volume buttons on the right side, a USB-C port and a SIM tray on the bottom. A hole cam is placed in the center of the incision. In the box, iQOO includes a charging adapter, cable, clear case, SIM tool and USB-C to cable. IQOO 9T is also equipped with dual stereo speakers for audio enjoyment and enhanced gaming experience. The overall design and quality of the IQOO 9T is in line with most flagship smartphones, although the iQOO is less specific about the quality of the glass used.
As for the screen, the iQOO 9T has opted for a 6.78-inch E5 AMOLED panel with a narrow bezel. The refresh rate of the screen is 120Hz, the touch sample rate is 360Hz, and it can reach 1200Hz in fast mode. This display supports HDR content from Netflix and YouTube. With a maximum brightness of 1500 nits, the screen can be viewed under direct sunlight. There’s no LTPO technology, but it doesn’t take away from the gorgeous display used on the iQOO 9T. The display is perfect for entertainment, and the high refresh rate makes everything you do look smooth.
As the first phone in India to use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip, performance is at the heart of the iQOO 9T. The chip gets you 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The new “Plus” version of Qualcomm’s flagship chip has a slight performance boost. However, the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC is expected to make significant gains in sustained performance and improvements. The IQOO 9T also features a large water vapor cooling system and Vivo’s V1+ chip, which combine to boost frame rates for games.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Pro/pro+ 5g Review: Software, Performance
And in terms of performance the phone is doing great so far. The IQOO 9T handles most tasks with minimal power, although internal and external temperatures are cooler than what I’ve experienced with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 smartphones, and in my brief time with the phone, I ran the phone and the phone at the highest settings. Immortal above at 60fps. During gaming, the iQOO 9T performed well under pressure. The IQOO 9T managed a single-core score of 1401 points and a multi-core score of 4192 points, which is a big improvement over the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip in the Vivo X80 Pro (review).
As for the camera, the iQOO 9T has a triple 50 MP Samsung GN5 primary sensor with f/1.88 resolution and OIS. The main camera has a 13 MP depth unit with f/2.2 resolution and a 12 MP telephoto shooter with f/1.98 resolution and 2x optical zoom. The camera system is capable of 20x digital zoom and 5x hybrid zoom. On the video front, the iQOO 9T can record 4K video at up to 60fps, while the front camera is limited to 1080p video at 30fps. Here are some products of iQOO 9T.
Photos taken on the main shooter are not as detailed as those taken on the main camera, but are good with enough light.
A phone lens is more useful as a photo camera than a zoom lens. The photo taken here was made using the camera’s 5x zoom.
Poco F3 Review: Did Users Really Like It?
The main camera takes beautiful pictures at night thanks to the 50 MP sensor and the Vivo V1+ chip. This photo was taken with very little ambient light.
The IQOO 9T definitely has one of the best front cameras in this segment, and the other two cameras can’t match the main camera. But the setup here is pretty decent, while the 16MP selfie stick is very reliable in most situations, better than most in the segment. We take an in-depth look at the iQOO 9T’s cameras in our full review.
The IQOO 9T has a massive 4700 mAh battery, which is enough to last you a day. While the battery leaves at least 10 percent to carry through to the next day, fast charging increases the battery’s capacity in a short amount of time. The IQOO 9T comes with a 120W charger that can fully charge the device in about 20 minutes, which is handy if you’re stuck. And includes a 120W adapter for the iQOO frame.
On the software side, the phone runs Android 12 with Funtouch OS 12 on top. iQOO also promises three years of Android updates and four years of security updates with the 9T. The overall interface is almost the same as the iQOO Z6 Pro, although some unnecessary features leave you with a better interface. The IQOO 9T also features Game Mode, which uses the V1+ chip to boost frame rates and boost performance.
Pixel 6 And Pixel 6 Pro Review: Solid Phones, Great Software, Perfect Pricing
With a starting price of 49,999 yuan, the iQOO 9T is not cheap. But in my short experience with the phone, I’d say the 50K price tag is reasonable considering what’s on offer. The rear camera setup here is one of the best in the 50K sub-segment. Then a fast and reliable Qualcomm chip combined with a smooth display and support for super fast charging.
You also get good software, even better software support, and a good-sized battery. All this helps to make the phone look good. Sure, the front and rear cameras could be better, but the iQOO 9T is an all-around smartphone with a lot of power to its name. What you get with the IQOO 9T is style, performance and speed, making it one of the best phones under Rs 50,000 in India. We’ll be publishing our full review of the iQOO 9T soon, but for now it’s safe to say we’re not disappointed with the phone. Mobile phone and PC maker Asus is known for making things like routers, motherboards and monitors. Gaming themed mice, headphones, etc. Huawei also makes gaming laptops and desktops under the ROG (Republic of Gamers) series. In 2018, the company launched its first gaming phone, the ROG Phone, and has improved the lineup every year. The latest is the Huawei ROG Phone 3, which brings faster hardware and exciting gaming features to mobile devices.
Gaming phones are a huge segment and there are only a few in the market. These include the Razer Phone series, the Xiaomi-backed Black Shark series, the Lenovo Legion gaming phone and Nubia’s RedMagic series. It’s all designed with the gaming community in mind and includes several unique features that you won’t find on other flagship smartphones.
Design-wise nothing has changed since the first ROG Phone, but with each generation Huawei has improved it again. While other OEMs offer flagship displays, the Huawei ROG Phone 3 still has thick bezels on the top and bottom, and features front-facing stereo speakers.
