Prior to its launch, the smartphone was a darling of the rumor mill, which was going full throttle to quash leaks. Now that the phone is out, people including us are still talking about how the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G surprised us with its performance and features. What features are we talking about? We used the device for exactly two weeks before publishing the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra review. Does the phone really hold the “Ultra” mantle? Or is it just another update which is incremental. Above all, with a price tag of Rs 1,05,990, is this a potential iPhone 12 Pro Max killer? Here is our review of the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra.
Update Samsung S21 Ultra Online Buy Review
There’s a lot to be said for the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G. And it should be, as it’s the company’s flagship offering the latest and greatest combination of hardware and software available. Let’s start with the general aesthetics of the phone.
Update: Samsung Galaxy S21: Hier Gibt’s Das Smartphone Zum Starken Preis
A priori, the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra could look exactly like its predecessor. A perforated Infinity-O display that’s huge even for large hands. The S21 Ultra’s screen is now 6.8 inches tall, which is 0.1 inches less than its predecessor. The immersive experience is enhanced by the edge-to-edge, bright and vivid display. I really enjoyed using the Galaxy S21 Ultra for streaming and content creation (more on that in the camera section of the review) during my recent trip to Triund, where I also used the phone as a daily driver.
The maximum brightness of the Dynamic AMOLED display is 1500 nits, which is more than bright even in direct sunlight. The display supports HDR10+, which means you can get excellent color and contrast while watching onscreen content. It also has a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate display. Samsung has made two small but still important improvements: a display with 120Hz WQHD+ resolution and an adaptive refresh rate.
Unlike the Galaxy S20 Ultra, you can use the S21 Ultra’s 5G display with the highest resolution and highest refresh rate support. Personally, I used the phone continuously at FHD+ resolution and 120Hz to prolong battery life, but if one wants to use the screen to its full capacity, the Galaxy S21 Ultra has it. covered. The display refresh rate is also adaptive, meaning it automatically changes the refresh rate between 10Hz and 120Hz depending on the task on screen. I didn’t notice any stuttering and the overall experience was smooth.
When you flip the phone over, you’ll notice how refreshing the design is. Samsung has gone back to the drawing board and given the Galaxy S21 Ultra a major, major design update. First, the Phantom Black color. We’ll just say that the Galaxy S21 Ultra has the best “black” color on any smartphone. The back panel has a matte finish that feels great to the touch while keeping fingerprints away.

But what’s even better is the design of the camera module, which makes the phone look premium from afar. Samsung has integrated the camera bump into the frame of the phone, which looks quite unique. Weighing over 225 grams, the big phone might feel bulky, but we felt the weight distribution was just right. I used the phone without a case because using one hides the beautiful color and design and that would be a shame. I dropped the phone more than 3 times but it had no scratches or cracks. You can tell that Corning Gorilla Glass Victus has done its job here.
It is also IP68 certified for water resistance, dust resistance and dual speaker configuration. The speakers are loud and clear. Like most flagships, the S21 Ultra lacks a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G has the most versatile camera system you’ll find on a smartphone. It has an upgraded 108MP main camera, 12MP ultra-wide sensor and two telephoto lenses – 10MP f/2.4 with 3x optical zoom and 10MP f/4.9 with 10x optical zoom and up to 100x digital zoom.
The versatile camera hardware is not only powerful on paper, but also in the real world. The improved Samsung 108MP ISOCELL HM3 sensor produces excellent images. Photos taken with the main sensor deliver rich, vivid colors and plenty of detail. Dynamic range and contrast are also impressive. I liked the camera performance even in low light conditions. In night mode, the camera is able to retain good detail in shadows without exaggerating highlights. Samsung has also fixed the focus issues of the S20 Ultra with laser autofocus. The ultra-wide camera is also very good. Yes, there is a bit of distortion around the edges, but that’s the case with most ultrawide shooters. However, the colors are quite faithful and the temperature matches that of the main sensor.

The two telephoto lenses are more than a gimmick. The two lenses together can produce up to 100x zoom. I was very impressed with the overall performance of both lenses. For the best usable photos, stick to the 30x zoom. Anything more results in loss of detail and noise. However, the 100x zoom is no longer a gimmick. Depending on what you’re shooting and the distance to your subject, your camera hardware and software can achieve the best possible results with the right lighting.
During the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra review period, I photographed the moon several times and was impressed with the results each time. Samsung’s AI software uses tricks to complement the hardware and deliver better results. Key features like focus tracking in the camera app and optical image stabilization allow for faster focusing, especially when zooming in on objects.
For selfies, the Galaxy S21 Ultra has a 40 MP front camera. Images are overall pretty sharp and detailed as expected. The colors are also very close to the real thing and there is no skin smoothing as such. During setup, Samsung asks if you want “natural” or “bright” selfies, which I think is a good choice. Portrait mode offers good edge detection and plenty of modes. Emulates the quiet, large-key mono mode of the iPhone. People took to Twitter to vote for the Galaxy S21 Ultra’s portrait mode over the iPhone 12’s 12MP selfie.

Samsung Galaxy S21+ First Impressions And Hands On Review
How is this iPhone 12 or iPhone 12 Pro? In terms of overall colors and details, the Galaxy S21 Ultra is very close to the iPhone. While the colors of the iPhone 12 are close to life, the Galaxy S21 Ultra produces more vivid images without oversaturating the images. Night mode performance is pretty good too, but the Galaxy S21 Ultra takes the crown for night mode support through its four sensors. Prior to the Galaxy S21 Ultra, Samsung’s flagships in India were often criticized for their overall performance. The Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G and older flagships featured India’s Exynos processor, which was not only weak compared to its Qualcomm Snapdragon counterpart, but also offered low efficiency.
Things have changed with the Exynos 2100 in the Galaxy S21 Ultra. When Samsung said “Exynos is back”, this time it probably meant it. The 5nm Exynos 2100 comes very close to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC, according to online benchmark tests. Even if you don’t care about benchmark scores, the Exynos 2100 SoC won’t disappoint. Samsung surprised us with the overall performance of the S21 Ultra 5G.
During our Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra review period, we played several games like Call of Duty, Asphalt 9, etc. Even at the highest possible setting, there was no sign of lag. Surprisingly, the device didn’t overheat while gaming and only felt warm to the touch. When we recorded videos, the upper part near the camera module got a little warm.

Battery life is also impressive. For a phone running continuously at 120Hz at FHD+ resolution, the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G’s 5,000mAh battery delivered over 6 hours of screen time (SoT) most days. One day when I took a lot of photos and videos, the battery died in them
