The larger dimensions take some getting used to and the larger screen definitely makes up for it. One-handed use is not uncomfortable even after several hours. Samsung ships the Galaxy Tab S7+ with a matching S Pen that attaches magnetically to the slot on the back. The recessed part now extends to the vertically oriented dual camera, which protrudes slightly. That said, the tablet isn’t completely flat on the tablet, but it’s not something that bothered us too much on the Galaxy Tab S6. It would be nice if Samsung would consider moving the S Pen to the top or side bezel in future models.
We feel like the magnets that hold the S Pen in place are stronger this time around. Therefore, there is less chance of accidentally disconnecting the stylus when inserting the tablet into a backpack or when changing orientation. I think we’ve all gotten over the expectation of a 3.5mm headphone jack on new flagships, but in case you were wondering, the Galaxy Tab S7+ doesn’t have a headphone jack.
The 12.4-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 2800 × 1752 pixels is excellent. It’s hard to fault Samsung’s OLED panels because they’re so good. The familiar 16:10 aspect ratio has been retained, allowing for an excellent media consumption experience. Colors are bright and vibrant with rich, deep blacks and excellent viewing angles. The panel is very bright and Samsung has ensured comfort by ensuring that the panel emits the lowest blue light on the tablet screen. The fingerprint sensor is built into the panel and works very well.
We’re all for a bigger screen. Going up in size is what we’ve been wishing Samsung would do for a long time. The 12.4-inch size is ideal for watching your favorite movies as well as for work. But that is not all. Samsung has also increased the refresh rate to 120 Hz. We’ve praised the higher refresh rate in the past. It’s really hard to go back to 60Hz once you get used to 120Hz. Everything looks so nice and smooth. Animations are buttery, fast-paced games look great, and even browsing social media is a treat.

Samsung has trimmed the bezels, but the tablet isn’t as bezel-less as we’ve come to expect from smartphones. Hopefully, its Infinity-O technology will make its way to tablets as well. This would make the immersive experience even better. There are the familiar AKG-tuned quad speakers with Dolby Atmos support. The new 1.6 watt speakers are noticeably better than the ones on the Galaxy Tab S6. The bass is strong, the sound is clear and the volume is quite high.
Samsung has started shipping its flagship tablets with the latest chipsets since last year. This means that the Galaxy Tab S7+ comes with Qualcomm’s upgraded Snapdragon 865+ chipset. No one really uses a tablet to take photos, but Samsung has packed a dual-camera setup into its latest tablet. The 13-megapixel primary camera with a 5-megapixel ultra-wide sensor is nothing to write home about. It’s actually the same as the Galaxy Tab S6. You can get respectable detail in images and color reproduction is generally good. Ultra-wide shots aren’t as sharp as you’d like, and low-light performance leaves a lot to be desired. Samsung brought features like Single Take, and while there’s a Pro mode for photos, it doesn’t offer the same features we get on smartphones. There is no Pro mode for videos.
The 8-megapixel front-facing camera was placed on the right bezel this time, instead of at the top. The location is selected for landscape mode, which is the orientation your tablet will be in during video calls. This will make video calls more natural and from a more flattering angle for you.
