Update Samsung A51 8gb 128gb Review – Samsung is strengthening its A series with new models, starting with the Galaxy A71 and Galaxy A51, which were announced earlier this month. The Galaxy A51 was launched in India at a starting price of Rs. 23, 999. This new smartphone brings updates to the existing Galaxy A50s (Update) to keep the series fresh and relevant.
According to Samsung, the Galaxy A51 is one of the first phones in the series to sport an Infinity-O display and a large camera. In addition to these important features, it has many features similar to its predecessor, including its AMOLED display, processor, and design. There is no major competition at this price level, except for the Redmi K20 Pro (Review) and Redmi K20 (Review), which could be an advantage for Samsung.
Update Samsung A51 8gb 128gb Review
The body of the Samsung Galaxy A51 has the same design as the Galaxy A50s. We have a full polycarbonate body, light at only 172g, and very thin, only 7.9mm thick. The glossy body tends to pick up fingers but is not noticeable on our Prism Crush Black unit. The back is also a bit slippery, but thankfully Samsung provides a case in the box.

The biggest change is the Infinity-O display, which we’re seeing for the first time on a Galaxy A-series phone. There is a single hole at the top center of the display, similar to the one we saw on the Note 10+ (Review). Samsung may not have changed the body design, but the hole-punch display makes this phone look good, we appreciate it. The Galaxy A51 uses a Super AMOLED panel with full HD resolution, producing vibrant colors and excellent sharpness. It looks good from the front, thanks to the small bezels around.
The button is ergonomically placed and on the right side, there is a tray for two Nano-SIM cards and a microSD card. On the bottom, we have the front headphone jack, the USB Type-C port, and the speaker. The back of the Galaxy A51 has a camera cluster that looks familiar, but now it has a fourth camera. The bump is not very noticeable, which is good.
The Galaxy A51 comes with standard accessories, a 15W charger, a Type-C cable, a headset, a SIM tray, and a case.
Samsung stuck to the same Exynos 9611 processor as the Galaxy A50s, in 2020 and at this price, it seems weak. The Galaxy A51 is available with 6GB or 8GB of RAM, and both variants have 128GB of internal storage. Other features include Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5, GPS, NFC, and FM radio. The front sensors are there and this phone also has a Widevine L1 sensor. The Galaxy A51 supports Samsung Pay, so you can use it for contactless payments.
Update: Samsung Galaxy A51 Falls To $269 As Mid Range Phone Price War Heats Up
The software that runs on this phone out of the box is Samsung’s One UI 2.0, based on Android 10. The new look and feel is similar to the previous versions of One UI that we’re used to, but Samsung has done. some tweaks to improve the user experience. Changing the background image is now easier as there is a dedicated menu for this instead of switching to the Themes app.
Other minor changes include the placement of permission access notifications from apps, which now appear at the bottom of the screen instead of in the middle. The ‘Device Protection’ submenu also has a new look; Battery usage can now be tracked over the past seven days, not just since the last time the phone was fully charged; and you can change lock screen app icons, change DnD phone or camera shortcuts and change flashlight.
There is still some pre-installed bloatware, including third-party apps and some of Samsung’s apps like Samsung Shop, but most can be removed. Samsung has added some India-specific features to the Galaxy A51, such as editing capabilities. your SMS messages in the form of video cards, predictive typing in multiple languages, and Smart Crop, which aims to find the right part of the image that you can crop with one click. We found that image processing works best when there is an image in the image.
The Galaxy A51 is similar to the Galaxy A50 when it comes to everyday use. The minimal and simple look is our favorite. Navigating the interface was fast, but not too fast. Sometimes we see a slight slowdown in system animations. It is a good sign; along the lines of what the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 or 665 SoC achieves. At the price Samsung is asking for this phone though, that’s disappointing.

In AnTuTu, we got a score of 1, 86, 220, and in the GFXbench T-Rex test, it was able to handle 42fps. The back of the phone was warm when gaming and using intensive apps, but not very well. Fortunately, the Exynos 9611 SoC is very capable of graphics. PUBG Mobile and Asphalt 9: Legends go well, with good ratings.
Biometric authentication works well but is slow. The fingerprint sensor takes a moment before it authenticates and unlocks the phone, as does facial recognition.
The Galaxy A51 supports Dolby Atmos but only if you have wired headphones connected. The sound quality is very average with integrated bass, but this phone sounds better with the best headphones on the market. The bottom firing speaker is not too loud but enough to listen to someone. The display is one of the best features of this phone. The lighting is excellent and the colors look vivid, making viewing the content very enjoyable.
Samsung used a 4,000mAh battery in the Galaxy A51, and it delivered a good 14 hours and 55 minutes in our HD video playback test. We easily managed a full day’s worth of regular use, with enough power left over to get through another half day. Charging is fast, and we can charge the battery up to 67 percent in an hour. It takes more than two hours to pay. It’s fast, but not as fast as others in this category like the Redmi K20 Pro, which charges 80 percent per hour.
Samsung’s New Galaxy A71 And A51 Hint At What The Galaxy S11 Will Look Like
Samsung has added a new 5-megapixel macro camera to the triple camera setup on the Galaxy A50s. They include a 48-megapixel main sensor; 12-megapixel wide-angle camera; and a 5-megapixel depth sensor.
In One UI 2.0, the camera app works a little better and now looks a little different. Most capture features are added to the “DONE” menu, but you can add them to the main browser interface if needed.
The main camera captures high resolution 12-megapixel photos by default but you can shoot at full resolution of 48 megapixels if needed. This option is hidden in the rate settings menu. Under good light, the A51 galaxy was able to capture detailed images of objects in the center of the frame. However, those towards the edges tend to be smaller and more flexible.
In low light, the first camera captures excellent colors, and details are well displayed and there is no noise. There is a dedicated night mode, but we did not notice a significant difference compared to the shots taken in the standard photo mode, because the Scene Optimizer automatically adjusts the parameters when low light is detected.
Samsung Galaxy A51 Review: A Decent Mid Range Sams…
A wide-angle camera captures more features in the frame but presents some of the worst images. Even after enabling the “Adapt for ultra wide lens” option, some photos still look blurry. Photos shot with this camera in low light look dark and have little detail. Night mode doesn’t really help here.
Live-focus mode blurs the background for a stunning look. Good image quality and a deep camera help the Galaxy A51 do a decent job of capturing the screen. You can adjust the report level here, but other effects are not available in this mode such as area color, etc. which we have seen in other Galaxy phones.
Closed jobs are the best. Focus speed is decent under good lighting, and we were able to capture some great shots. You can get closer to your subject if you use a larger camera. Colors aren’t bad and the sensor picks up detail.
The Galaxy A51 can shoot video up to 4K, but that’s not guaranteed. The video quality is not bad when shot under good light, but in low light, the videos are green and the details are weak. You’ll find stability at 1080p, but ultimately, it’ll look brighter when you’re walking around. Autofocus is also slow. This bright look is enhanced in low light, and looks amazing. You can
