In our Galaxy A50 review, we mentioned that this is Samsung’s best value-for-mid-range device. At $349.99, it offers a lot in return and is Samsung’s first mid-range phone with an under-display optical fingerprint sensor.

Key features include a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED display, Exynos 9610 chipset with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. The triple rear camera has a 25-megapixel main sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide and a 5-megapixel depth sensor. There is also a 4,000mAh battery with 15W fast charging.

This particular variant has support for both GSM and CDMA networks, so it can work with all major carriers in the United States. It also comes with Samsung’s 12-month US warranty, which third-party sellers don’t accept on international unlocked variants hitting Amazon. So keep that in mind when you decide to buy. If you do so now, you’ll get a free Galaxy fitness tracker when Amazon starts shipping the handset on September 20. We found it to be a well-rounded fitness band in our Galaxy Fitness review.

The mid-range smartphone segment is not Samsung’s forte as it was before the rise of Xiaomi, Oppo, Realme and others. In recent times, Samsung has produced less than expected for an unusually high-priced device. Galaxy J8 (Review) For the life of me, I can’t understand why it costs Rs 19,000.

Declining sales have made Samsung realize that it needs to offer more for less to stay afloat in the highly competitive mid-range smartphone space. But after so many mishaps, things might be looking up for Samsung. Because the recently announced Galaxy A50 looks like a step in the right direction.

Samsung June 2021 Update Rolling Out Now To These Devices

At a price of Rs 19,990, the phone offers two amazing things, a good camera, a good display. You can also add design to that list, which is very subjective, but if it’s the smaller scale and thinner profile, I’d prefer the Samsung over the Poco. If these two qualities (the three you add to the design) are what you want in a smartphone, then Samsung has the perfect smartphone for you. If performance is what you’re looking for, you’ll be well served with the Poco F1 (Review). Let’s try to know more about the device.

I went here in person and bought A50 for Rs. Come to declare it as one of the best displays under 20,000 that I have had the pleasure of looking at. The color accuracy on the display is definitely much better than the Poco F1. I think the only thing expected from Samsung is that it makes flawless OLED panels, and the 6.4-inch AMOLED display on the A50 is one of the best you’ll find.

A look at the photos clicked on both photos shows that the Poco F1 displays bright red images on a white background and a slight yellow tint, which was not present in the A50. The phone has multiple display modes like Adaptive Display, AMOLED Cinema, AMOLED Photo and Basic. I recommend the adaptive display mode as it gives more realistic looking colors. I will say this that I see very little blue noise on the display but it shouldn’t be anything.

The brightness on the phone was amazing. Even in bright sunlight I could read everything on my phone perfectly. At night, the screen gets pretty dim, but I recommend keeping the brightness around 25 percent when reading at night. Samsung has included a blue light filter for easy reading at night.

Galaxy A50s Is Samsung’s Latest Phone To Get February 2022 Security Update

Talking about the top notch, or Infinity U Display as Samsung calls it, I think Samsung does well to score points as it creates a great viewing experience. This is the first flagship smartphone I have reviewed from Samsung and I believe the company has done a great job. You can hide the point if you want.

Another thing that attracts people to this device is that it has a triple camera system. This is not something that can be found in phones under Rs 20,000. The most interesting thing about the camera is the inclusion of a wide angle lens which I was very excited to try out.

The Galaxy A50’s triple camera setup includes a 25MP low-light shooter, an 8MP ultra-wide lens and a 5MP depth sensor. The ultra-wide lens on the phone offers a 123-degree field of view that captures more frames than the exact same area. Although the ultra-wide sensor is excellent, the image is distorted at the edges, giving the final image a rounded curve on the sides. Still, it’s nice how big the field of view the ultra-wide sensor brings to the standard.

The 25MP primary lens is billed as a low light sensor and I have to say I’m mostly not disappointed. The phone doesn’t have a specific night mode in the camera options, but the ‘Sen Optimizer’ detects and adjusts for low-light conditions. The camera had good noise reduction which I can’t say for the Poco F1. However, there were instances where the camera failed to detect low-light scenes and produced images that lacked exposure and detail. Apart from that, the Poco F1 had more details and a better exposure scale compared to the Galaxy A50.

Refurbished Samsung Galaxy A50 White 6.4

Low light performance aside, the phone captures very colorful images in daylight scenes and also exhibits wide dynamic range. Poco F1 doesn’t click the most color accurate photos or have the highest dynamic range but it gets more
