Samsung hasn’t really done anything fancy with the packaging of its latest affordable offering. The packaging is neat and seems to be made of biodegradable material. Inside the box, Samsung has packed almost everything a new buyer needs. The contents of the Galaxy A50 box are as follows:

The Samsung Galaxy A50 carries on the legacy of the A series. As soon as you take the phone out of the box, it says yes. With its curved back and lightweight design, it feels great in the hand. It’s dominated by a stunning, almost edge-to-edge display with a U-shaped notch at the top and a slight chin at the bottom.

Looking at the back, it reminds me of the Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2 3D Glasstic (as Samsung calls it) back panel. The back panel is covered with glossy glass, but it is actually made of polycarbonate. Samsung has cleverly reduced the bezels to ensure good ergonomics and easy one-handed operation.

The slim side rail is also made of polycarbonate, and the power and volume rockers are placed on the right edge, both of which provide a nice tactile response. All the ports and the speaker are on the bottom edge, while the SIM card slot goes into the slot on the left edge.

As for build quality, we didn’t see any flex or hear any creaking when we put pressure on the back with our fingers. Overall, the Galaxy A50 is premium and solid.

In all seriousness, the real star here is the Galaxy A50’s display. The phone comes with an Infinity-U SuperAMOLED display which looks amazing. It has a Full HD+ resolution with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. The screen looks bright, vibrant and well-calibrated. With deep blacks and good viewing angles. Everything looks good on the screen, whether indoors or outdoors.

The display of the Galaxy A50 is also equipped with a fingerprint sensor. Apart from the Galaxy S10 series, this is the only Samsung phone with an in-display fingerprint sensor at the time of writing. It’s an optical sensor, not an ultrasonic sensor like in Samsung’s high-end phones.

Setting up the Galaxy A50 fingerprint scanner is a very easy process. It’s not as fast as you’ll get on the OnePlus 6T, but it’s still consistent.

Samsung Galaxy A50 Test

Samsung Galaxy A50 is powered by Exynos 9610 chipset. The chip, developed by Samsung, is based on a 10nm FinFET process and consists of eight cores divided into two four-core clusters. One cluster has Cortex-A73 cores clocked at 2.3GHz, while the other cluster has all Cortex-A53 processors clocked at 1.7GHz. The chipset is integrated with Mali G72MP3 GPU to meet your graphics demands. Our review unit of the Galaxy A50 has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage.

Software-wise, the Galaxy A50 comes with Samsung’s new One UI based on Android Pie. The new interface is designed for the higher end phones we’ve just moved on to. If you’ve used a Samsung phone before, you’ll notice that the interface has been completely overhauled. It is easy to use with one hand, has colorful iconography and attractive animations.

Samsung has also added a “night mode” that looks great on the AMOLED panel. It comes with an on-screen navigation button and full-screen gestures. Unlike the Galaxy S10 series, it does not have a Bixby button. However, if you use Bixby a lot, you can set the power button as a Bixby key. The new interface is also easier on resources. Samsung has also integrated “lock screen events” into the Galaxy M series phones.

In terms of performance, the Exynos 9610-powered Galaxy A50 is consistent and fast in everyday use. Our Galaxy A50 has 4GB of RAM and we saw some frame drops while playing PUBG on high settings. The game ran well on “balanced” graphics at a moderate frame rate.

If you’re wondering how powerful the Exynos 9610 is, we’d say it’s a step below the Snapdragon 660, which is good enough for our usage.

Unlike other phones we’ve come across in this price segment, the Galaxy A50’s RAM management is well-optimized, and it can keep multiple apps running in the background.

The Galaxy A50 boasts of a triple camera system as one of its key features. Samsung has again opted for a 25MP main sensor (f/1.7 aperture), accompanied by a 5MP sensor (f/2.2 aperture) and an 8MP wide-angle sensor (f/2.2 aperture). For selfie lovers, the 25MP camera (f/2.0 aperture) is placed right inside the U-shaped notch.

Galaxy A50 camera app offers Pro mode, Live Focus, Panorama, Slow motion, Hyperlase, AR emojis and many more features. Samsung has also added an AI-based smart scene optimization option. Samsung recently added support for high-performance HEIF and HEVC formats, which can be enabled from settings.

It’s No Android 12, But The Galaxy A50 Did Just Get The Latest Security Update

How does the Galaxy A50 camera work? Yes, it was able to deliver sharp and vivid images in daylight conditions. Like most Samsung cameras, the Galaxy A50 keeps exposure on the high side, ensuring images look good without falling into shadows.

Details aren’t as sharp as the Note 7 Pro, but metering is more consistent, especially in challenging lighting.

Samsung has added an interesting wide-angle camera that also fits more into the frame. Images printed from the wide-angle lens don’t match the shots from the main sensor, and there’s a lot of distortion at the edges.

Unlike most phones of this budget, it doesn’t have a dedicated night mode. The Galaxy A50’s camera can take good photos in low light, but it doesn’t hold up well when viewed on a larger screen.

Samsung Galaxy A50s: Finally, It Comes With Samsung Pay!

When it comes to selfies, the Galaxy A50’s 25MP front-facing camera can capture selfies with good detail in the right lighting. It also comes with Live Focus option for bokeh effect which you can adjust later.

The Galaxy A50 looks like a well-thought-out mid-range offering. The phone seems to tick a lot of the right boxes. The design is great, the AMOLED screen is good quality, the One UI software is better than what other Android brands offer, and the battery backup is excellent. The daily figure should be sufficient for long-term average users. Overall, the hands-on experience of the Galaxy A50 is much better than its specs suggest.

The Galaxy A50 is up against Xiaomi’s Poco F1 ( review ) and Redmi K20, which offer more raw power. That said, if you’re not an avid gamer, the Galaxy A50 should serve you better.

Breaking: Galaxy A50 Starts Getting The Android 11 Update

© 2011-2022 – , All rights reserved Privacy Policy | Terms of Service | |: about Our team | Contact Us Despite what Samsung would have you believe, the Galaxy Series S and Note lines don’t begin and end. Samsung’s flagships may get all the attention, but you can’t be the biggest smartphone maker on the planet by ignoring the latest phones.

That’s where the Samsung Galaxy A50 comes in, and it’s amazing. At first glance, it looks similar to the Galaxy S10, but on the inside it offers a fast enough experience without overdoing its graphics. It’s an absolute steal at £310 and worth considering if the S and Note ranges are too expensive for you.

The Galaxy A series is very, very confusing. What you really need to know is that the Galaxy A50 is currently second only to the A70. It will soon be the third when the A80 goes on sale later this month. This makes it better than the A10, A20e and A40 combined.

This realistically explains the 6.4-inch device, which looks similar to the Samsung Galaxy S10 on the outside, but with a stripped-down interior. Powering the phone is an octa-core 2.3GHz Exynos 9610 processor, roughly equivalent to the Snapdragon 675 that powers the Galaxy A70. The phone also supports 4GB
