Update Samsung A31 Ram Review – Due to the disruption caused by the Covid lockdown and the recent increase in GST rates, the available market share dynamics are changing rapidly. As restrictions ease, most brands under 20,000 items are now adding new options.
Samsung has added the quality Galaxy A31 to the Galaxy M11 and M01. It’s one of the few Samsung phones to use a MediaTek chipset, and it integrates the A-series’ advantages such as an AMOLED display, a glass cover, One UI software, and packs a massive 5,000 mAh battery.

Should you buy it? We’ve been testing the handset for the past few days and now we’ll share our first impressions and thoughts.

Samsung does better than most other Android players when it comes to phone design. The Galaxy A31 follows the brand’s unified design language for 2020.
It has a “Glasstic” back with a subtle, elegant pattern and a rectangular camera module. The metal-trimmed side frame is actually polycarbonate as well, which helps keep the weight down. A light and balanced profile combined with ergonomic curves on the back makes the Galaxy A31 comfortable to hold and use, even with a large 5000 mAh battery.

The design is further enhanced by an attractive AMOLED display. Unlike the Galaxy A51 and A71, this one doesn’t have a modern, centralized punch. Instead, there is a dated Infinity-U, or drop of water. The bottom frame is also considerably thicker.
The phone has a USB Type-C port and retains a 3.5 mm audio jack. The display has an optical fingerprint sensor, which is currently fast and reliable.
The Samsung Galaxy A31 is expected to use the high-contrast AMOLED panel (6.4 inches) with Full HD+ resolution. Users can choose between 2 color profiles – vivid and natural. Vibrant mode defaults to a bit bluish, but has a color temperature adjustment switch. Natural mode works better for us. The main thing is that users will be able to customize the colors according to their preferences.
The display was readable in direct sunlight, and benefits such as a carefully designed dark theme and always-on display widgets should be noted.

This is a great screen for viewing multimedia content. The handset is DRM L1 certified and supports HD streaming on popular apps like Netflix and Prime video.
The screen does not have a pre-installed screen protector and the screen has a protective layer of Gorilla Glass (version not specified). There’s also a good quality oleophobic coating and the screen resists fingerprints quite well.
The Samsung Galaxy A31 is powered by the MediaTek Helio P65 chipset and our review unit has 6GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB of storage. It’s not a very bright chipset, and the Galaxy A31 shouldn’t be very attractive to hardcore gamers. It’s too early to pass judgement, but so far the day-to-day operations have been going smoothly.
The software is One UI 2.0 based on Android 10. It’s an intuitive interface that we really like. If you ask us, this gives the A31 a solid edge over phones from Vivo, OPPO, Realme and even Xiaomi.

Most pre-installed apps (Samsung and third party) can be uninstalled. The phone has integrated Samsung Pay support (NFC) and you will be able to add your credit and debit cards for payments. Face unlock is fast and reliable.
In the early days, the 5000mAh battery was able to last for 1.5 to 2 days. 15W fast charging is actually pretty slow by 2020 standards. It takes one hour to charge the battery to 40 percent and more than 2.5 hours to fully charge it.
As for audio, there is a single speaker at the bottom and it is quite loud and clear. Sound through headphones is quite decent. Dolby Atmos audio is also supported.
There are four cameras on the back, led by a 48MP primary camera. There is also an 8MP wide-angle sensor, a 5MP depth sensor and a 5MP portrait. On the front, there is a 20 MP sensor for selfies.

The camera app is easy to navigate, has AI, and has tons of AR stickers that your kids should love.
Based on initial testing, the camera performed better than we expected in daylight and decent indoor lighting, and should be a tough challenger to other top budget options. The details are good in daylight and the HDR mode works quite well.
We’ll know for sure when we’re done testing. For now, we’ve added some samples for your review.
Samsung Galaxy A31 builds on Samsung’s strengths, such as design, great audio and video experience, One UI software, Samsung payment and camera software, and these advantages set it apart from the usual options available at the same budget. The experience is brilliant and there is a lot to do.

We’ll still need more time to determine how well the MediaTek chipset holds up, but yes, the chipset seems a bit weak for the price. The lack of proper fast charging support is another sticking point.

The update is 2.03 GB in size and is recommended to be downloaded and installed while the smartphone is connected to a strong Wi-Fi connection and charged. The Galaxy A31 update is reportedly coming a month earlier. Samsung’s One UI 3 release schedule indicates that the smartphone is slated for a May 2021 update.
Samsung introduced the Galaxy A31 in June 2020. It has a 6.4-inch Full HD+ Infinity-U Super AMOLED display. Under the hood, it is powered by a MediaTek Helio P65 SoC coupled with 6GB of RAM. There’s also 128GB of built-in storage that can be expanded up to 512GB with a microSD card. Optics has a quad-camera setup at the back with a 48-megapixel primary sensor with f/2.0 lens, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle shooter with f/2.2 lens, a 5-megapixel depth sensor with f. /2.4 lens and 5 megapixel sensor with f/2.4 macro lens. There’s also a 20-megapixel selfie shooter with an f/2.2 lens. It has a 5000mAh battery with 15W fast charging support.
