Update Samsung 75 Inch Smart Tv 4k Review – Matt is a professional painter who owns and operates his own painting business specializing in interior and exterior painting.
When my old Samsung LCD suddenly stopped working, I took the plunge and bought a Sony (XBR75X900F) 4K TV. The Samsung TV lasted ten years, but at this point I ended up on the Sony route. My old TV was 55 inches, but I decided to spend a little more and upgrade to 75 inches. I mounted my new TV on my living room wall, which I absolutely love and recommend rather than a stand.
Update Samsung 75 Inch Smart Tv 4k Review
If you’re upgrading from a smaller screen, like I did, a 75-inch screen makes a big difference after staring at a 55-inch screen for too long. If I could do it over, I’d buy the 85-inch, but the 75-inch is plenty.
Sony X95k Mini Led Tv Review: A Premium Tv For A Bright Room
This review is based on the Sony X900F that I bought in 2018. As of this 2022 update I have always used the TV and it still works fine with no issues. I update the software. If you can afford the Sony Bravia series, it’s worth it, but I’ll explain what I like and dislike about it so you can decide if it’s worth your hard-earned money, as it’s not a cheap TV.
Picture quality isn’t as good as OLED, but OLED is generally more expensive than the Sony Bravia series, even with the smaller screen size. If you’re not willing to spend the extra money for OLED, then the Sony 900 series or the latest Sony model in this series makes for a much more brilliant picture. In my case, I want to replace my broken Samsung TV soon.
The picture quality of the X900F is great even outside of 4K playback, but 4K is where it really shines. After mounting and setting up my TV, I watched some 4K nature videos on YouTube and was very impressed with the brightness and color definition. Sony claims that their Triluminos display makes colors more vibrant. I’m not going to argue with that. The picture quality is better than my previous Samsung TV.
Another observation I made when comparing this TV to my old Samsung LCD is that there is no motion blur in action scenes. This was one of the reasons I bought this model. My old TV had terrible motion blur.

The X900F does high-end non-4K content well. I haven’t watched the old DVD yet, but standard Blu-ray and non-4K content streaming on Netflix or YouTube look good, but your internet speed also plays a role.
This TV looks great when you’re watching 4K (Ultra HD) content. This TV has High Dynamic Range (HDR) for improved picture quality. Unless your HDMI cables, player and content are 4K compatible, you won’t see its full potential. After setting up my Sony 4K player, I watched both
The Sony X900F has full-range local dimming for a clearer image. It is my understanding that the Sony 800 series is edge lit, which means that colors are less bright and dark scenes are darker. Never seen the 800 series, I have nothing to compare it to except my old Samsung.
The remote isn’t terrible, but it can be annoying at times. I sometimes had a delay in selecting an app from the home screen, and sometimes it took five or ten seconds for the TV to turn on. The best button on the remote is the Google Voice Command feature, which saves a lot of time when searching for videos on YouTube. Press a button, speak into the microphone of the remote and your content will appear moments later.

The button configuration on this remote is poorly laid out in my opinion. The round menu buttons are so close to the arrow buttons that it is very easy to accidentally press the wrong button. Surprisingly, the remote doesn’t even have a YouTube button. There are buttons for Netflix and Google Play, but not for YouTube. The YouTube app was previously missing from the apps on-screen menu, but Sony has added it through software updates.
On the plus side, the pause, play, and rewind/fast forward buttons on the remote work really well for YouTube and Netflix with no lag. It might depend on your internet speed, but it’s blazing fast compared to my Roku.
The sound from the built-in speakers of this TV is worse than my previous Samsung LCD. I noticed terrible sound quality when I first used it, so I bought a better Sony soundbar. If you buy such a high quality TV and want to watch great 4K movies with Dolby Atmos, then you should definitely buy a good soundbar.
I bought a Sony Z9-F soundbar with matching surround sound speakers. Pairing a Sony sound system with the TV made a big difference, but even a cheap soundbar sounds better than the built-in speakers.

The Bravia X900F is a smart TV (Android), packed with apps on the main screen. Sony has added some apps since I bought this TV. As I mentioned earlier in this article, there was a slight delay when scrolling through the apps menu and selecting one, but that problem no longer exists after I updated the software.
The choice of apps is good. You get all the popular apps including YouTube, Spotify, Netflix, Amazon Prime, Crackle, Tubi and many more. The menu used to exclude YouTube, but now the app is included. You can also add apps.
Unless you’re going for a cheap Vizio or TCL flat screen, buying a Sony Bravia TV wider than 55″ isn’t cheap unless you buy a smaller or older model, but you definitely get what you pay for. I went for the 75″ because I had been eyeing the 55″ for ten years and wanted something bigger for my large room wall. I do not regret buying this particular model. I don’t plan to buy another TV for a long time.
Typically, Sony’s price increases by about $1,500 for every additional 10 inches of screen width. The 2018 Sony (X900F) 75-inch, based on this review, now costs less than $2,000, or you can spend more and buy a current model. The performance of both the newer and older models I have is very similar, I understand the newer model is slightly better for video game performance. I don’t know because I’m not a gamer. If you want high-quality display but don’t want to pay the extra money for OLED, I’d definitely recommend going with the Sony Bravia.
How To Update The Software On A Samsung Smart Tv
My only complaint is the oversized remote, which isn’t backlit or has a handy YouTube button. However, you can still access YouTube from the on-screen menu, but a keyboard shortcut on the remote would be better. The menu buttons are very close to the arrow buttons. The remote isn’t terrible, but it could be better.
A high dynamic range (HDR) image will not disappoint with the right setup. There is no motion blur when viewing fast moving scenes in a movie. Streaming and watching 4K movies looks great, even at high quality for non-4K content. I highly recommend this TV if you’re collecting 4K movies and want top-notch viewing quality.

Answer: You need a 4k HDMI cable for this TV. I can’t remember the brand I chose for mine, but you don’t have to spend a lot for a nice cable. Make sure the cable is 4k. Samsung’s 2022 QLED workhorse shines in bright rooms and with HDR, although few other brands offer a better price.

Samsung is the No. 1 TV manufacturer, and the Q60B represents the sweet spot between affordability and features. It’s the company’s cheapest 2022 model with QLED technology, and in my testing, those quantum dots provided a brighter image than I expected. On the other hand, it is still not the best value with similarly priced models
