Redmi Note 8 2021 can no longer have 6 GB of RAM, only 3 GB or 4 GB, but, on the other hand, its initial storage level has been increased to 64 GB instead of 32 GB.
And the color options are now limited – Moonlight White, Space Black and Neptune Blue were available for our review unit. Nebula Purple and Cosmic Purple are no longer options.
Apart from this, the Redmi Note 8 2021 is identical to its 2019 predecessor externally and in all other specifications and hardware. The camera setup is the same as the screen and battery. And the same – the price, which is probably the biggest gripe of all, as all the changes in the specification can be affected with a nice drop in the price.

The Redmi Note 8 2021 retail box is similar to the regular Redmi Note 8. Some odd text placements and a different background printed on the box are some odd features. The box itself is a standard two-piece affair – nice and thick cardboard all around.
As for the included accessories, you get a nice and thick transparent TPU case, so you can confidently start using the phone right away.
Significant added value comes from the 22.5V Quick Charge 3+ charger included in the box. This is an upgrade from the 10V charger that came with the original Redmi Note 8. It’s still a USB Type-A unit, and there’s a short Type-A to Type-C cable in the box.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro Review: A Sensible Note
The Redmi Note 8 2021 looks very similar to the original Note 8 from 2019, and at first glance you can’t tell them apart. The smartphone has a 6.3-inch FullHD+ LCD selfie camera notch, and on the back is a quad camera setup placed vertically in the top left corner, with a traditional fingerprint reader on the right.
The Redmi Note 8 2021 shares cameras with the 2019 Note 8, meaning you get a 13MP selfie shooter on the front, while the rear has a quad camera setup with 48MP primary, 8MP ultra-wide, 2MP macro and 2MP depth units. . However, unlike its 2019 counterpart, the new Note 8 cannot record 4K videos.
Chipset and memory options have also changed. Redmi Note 8 2021 is powered by Helio G85 SoC instead of Snapdragon 665 and comes in three memory configurations – 3GB/64GB, 4GB/64GB and 4GB/128GB.
The Note 8 2021 comes with Bluetooth 5.2 and runs MIUI 12.5 based on Android 11.
Redmi Note 10 Pro
It is powered by a full 4,000mAh battery pack like the Note 8 2019. It’s powered up to 18V via the USB-C port, but the included adapter can go up to 22.5V.

I have RN 8 Pro which is not much developer base due to MTK app. In retrospect, I should have done more research before purchasing. At least I got root and custom recovery. Additionally, V13.0.1.0.SKUMIKSM is a 2.5GB download and is designed for the global branch of MIUI.
If you want to try MIUI 13 and Android 12 on your Redmi 10, you need to register for the Mi Pilot program, which can be done through the Mi official survey site. Note that you must be ready to provide your Mi Account ID and IMEI number of your device to become a Mi Pilot tester. Also, you can only participate in my pilot program if you are 18 or older. Xiaomi mentions that Mi Pilot testers can restore their smartphone if flashing fails.
