Okay, today’s The Bits update will be a quick one as yesterday’s post seems to have caused quite a stir on the interwebs. Yesterday was my birthday too and I spent most of the day at work so I’m taking a little break this afternoon.
Update New Mutants Steelbook Review
First up Tuesday night, we released Tim’s Mammoth Part 2 and an in-depth review of Scream Factory’s excellent new 12-movie/16-disc Blu-ray box set, Friday the 13th Collection: Deluxe Edition, due out next Tuesday (10/13). .) . ). And it’s every bit as great as you’d hope. Kudos to everyone at Scream and elsewhere involved in this series. It features our old friend Peter Bracke and our own Tim Salmons, who is credited in the series’ notebook for rare trailers and TV spots. He’s too humble to mention, but here we go. The series is awesome, the review is here and we hope you both enjoy it!

In today’s announcement messages, Walt Disney Home Entertainment and Twentieth Century Studios have set Josh Boone’s The New Mutants for release on Blu-ray, DVD and 4K Ultra HD on November 17th. The 4K disc includes HDR10 High Dynamic Range and Dolby Atmos sound. You can see the cover image at the top left.
In addition, RLJ Entertainment has finalized the genre names 2067 and Monstrum, which are set to be released on Blu-ray and DVD on November 17th.
The New Mutants’ Is Finally Available On Blu Ray & 4k Ultra Hd And Best Buy Has An Exclusive Steelbook
Meanwhile, we’re hearing rumors that Warner Bros. Home Entertainment is preparing to release Christopher Nolan’s TENET on Blu-ray, DVD, 4K Ultra HD and digital soon, probably in December. We will publish the information as soon as it is official.
Well then… Warner’s recently announced The Lord of the Rings: The Motion Picture Trilogy and The Hobbit: The Motion Picture Trilogy 4K SKUs are available for pre-order on Amazon.com and elsewhere. It appears that in addition to the trilogy sets and Best Buy Steelbooks, there will also be a substantial version of The Lord of the Rings: The Movie Trilogy gift set, which includes a copy of The One Ring. We suspect the Hobbit gift set will also arrive at some point, but not until next year.

Also today, our friends at ClassicFlix launched a new IndieGoGo campaign to fund the restoration of the classic Our Gang/Little Rascals shorts. The company has licensed all 80 original Hal Roach shorts, but they need to be restored. So the goal is to do that and release them uncut and fully restored and remastered on Blu-ray and DVD.
