Update M31 Samsung Details Review – The Samsung Galaxy M31 – the South Korean giant’s budget smartphone – received a new software update earlier this week with the April 2020 security patch. While the latest software update is supposed to provide various security fixes, it seems to come with some bugs that may cause problems for users. Various affected users have reported that their Galaxy M31 got wiped while installing the latest update. Some Samsung Galaxy A70 users in the country who received Android 10 update along with One UI 2.0 have also reported similar issues.
As a Twitter user wrote, several Samsung Galaxy M31 users have bricked their phones while trying to install the latest update. According to users, the handset is reported to be stuck during the installation process.

Some affected users have reported similar issues on the Samsung Community Forums. Affected users point out that even a factory reset cannot be done to fix the problem, as the phone keeps crashing while installing new software.

Although some users claim to be able to fix the problem after downloading a previous firmware from a third-party source, not uninstalling the software is not recommended as it can cause serious problems.

Similar to the Galaxy M31, some Samsung Galaxy A70 users in India have reported similar bricking issues after installing the Android 10 update that comes with One UI 2.0. SamMobile reports that the problem on the Galaxy A70 is caused by a hardware incompatibility. However, this may not be the case with the Galaxy M31.
Some reports suggest that Samsung has stopped releasing updates for both the Galaxy M31 and Galaxy A70 to avoid further issues.

While Samsung may fix the problem with a future software update, users whose phones are jailbroken have no respite until they reach the company’s service center, all of which are covered by a nationwide lockdown. The company’s social media didn’t help users much. Samsung has an option to help its customers remotely, but it’s unclear if the company plans to do so.
Gadgets 360 has reached out to Samsung India for comment on the matter and will update this space when the company responds. Meanwhile, it is recommended not to install the latest update to avoid facing any issues.
The Samsung Galaxy M31 is one of the company’s latest phones in the country, which was launched in February this year.

LG V40 ThinQ gets new update with Wi-Fi calling support in India, March security patch: Users report If you’re spending around Rs 15,000 on a phone, would you seriously consider a phone other than the Redmi Note or perhaps the equivalent Realme or Nokia device? It wasn’t that long ago that Samsung was the default choice here. And it’s not that Samsung isn’t still making great phones, it’s just that budget phones haven’t been as exciting in years past. At least compared to the competition.
Will the Galaxy M31 change anything? To answer this important question (for Samsung’s sake, if no one else’s), read on.
Samsung has a specific glass for the back of the phone – a plastic that looks and feels like glass – which is smart, as it gives the phone a premium finish while reducing weight. And weight can be an issue considering Samsung packed a gigantic 6,000mAh battery into this thing.
Samsung Galaxy M31 Review: Cool, Compact And Capable Smartphone
And don’t let the “glass” in “glass” fool you, it’s still plastic and prone to scratches, and it’s glossy, which makes the phone slippery to hold, especially for those with buttery fingers like me. On the plus side, the phone doesn’t look cheap unlike its predecessor.
The color variant I’m using is Space Black, which is frankly boring for my taste. No gradient, it’s simple. If you don’t want black, your only option is Ocean Blue.
Despite the glass, the phone is still heavy at 191 grams, but you’ll have to live with that if you want a 6,000mAh battery.
Word of advice, buy a phone case, because you need one and Samsung isn’t giving you one.
Samsung Galaxy M31: What Is Unique About This Phone? Read On To Learn About Its Specs, Features And Price
The Galaxy M31 sports a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED Infinity Display with a waterdrop notch at the top. The phone’s bezels and chin are slim and have curved edges, but it’s something we haven’t seen before.
The quad-camera setup packed in a rectangular camera module is not unique as Samsung has made it its signature design element in its 2020 lineup. S phones.
You’ll find the fingerprint sensor on the back and the headphone jack, Type-C port and speaker grill on the bottom edge.
Starting with the 32 MP front camera, the phone takes really good pictures. In terms of details and colors, the phone lived up to my expectations. It doesn’t improve colors as much as many phones do these days. When I use portrait mode, or “live focus” as Samsung calls it, the phone takes a few seconds to set focus, but it’s worth the splurge because in terms of edge detection, clarity and color, it delivers great results. .
Samsung Launches Galaxy M31 With 64mp Quad Camera
Moving on to the rear camera which includes a 64MP primary sensor, 8MP wide-angle camera, 5MP depth camera and 5MP macro camera, the images clicked in daylight are quite impressive. However, in some cases it was found that the colors were washed out. Details and clarity were up to the mark.
Ultra wide angle shots were also decent. In some cases, I felt the captured images were warmer than the actual scene, but at least the image wasn’t ugly or unrealistic.
I had high hopes for the camera as it took good shots in daylight, but it failed at night. If you use the camera at night or in dimly lit places, you will get nothing but blurry pictures. With no clarity and lots of noise, I had to scramble to capture an image that didn’t look like I was running while I was shooting. And if you thought night mode would help, you’d be wrong. Other than brightening up the images, it didn’t do much. In my opinion, this is a red flag if you take a lot of low-light photos.
The smartphone is powered by the Exynos 9611 chipset, which is the same as what we saw in its predecessor and the Galaxy A51. The smartphone runs on the latest Android 10 and offers 6GB of RAM and up to 128GB of internal storage.
Samsung Stops Rolling Out The Galaxy M31 Update That Bricked Phones
You get an app drawer and switching between apps is pretty smooth. I didn’t see any lag while using the phone. I played several videos, games and music and didn’t notice any lag or heating while doing this. Clearly, the phone is perfectly fine for your daily tasks.
Games are another matter. I played RoadRash on my phone and it didn’t run really smoothly. I wish Samsung had gone with a more powerful processor, like the Snapdragon 730G chipset that the Poco X2 offers at 15,999. Realme 6 and Redmi Note 9 Pro also have more capable hardware at this price point.
The only headline-grabbing feature of the phone is the battery – 6,000 mAh is simply amazing. I used the phone for a day and a half and it didn’t drain completely. A small trade-off (ok, not small) you have to make in terms of charging time. You’ll need to make do with a 15W charger. If you’re planning to be out for a while, it’s best to go into Zen mode while you wait for the phone to fully charge. On the plus side, once charged, you don’t have to worry about battery life for long.
The display and single speaker are very good, and I think this phone is a good choice for those who consume a lot of videos. In fact, few phones offer an OLED display at this price, and if that’s important to you, the M31 is flawless. Paired with that massive battery, all-day Netflix binging can be your thing.
Samsung Galaxy M31 Review — Minor Yet Worthy Upgrade To Galaxy M30s
There are many reasons to buy this phone, but to be fair, they are good. The OLED display is fantastic, as is the battery life. Performance is adequate for daily tasks and
