The Android 13 update brings a new user interface design with an expanded color palette feature, stacked widgets, larger app icons in the notification area, and slightly revised transparency effects. Animations, transitions, and performances also look smooth. Samsung has also improved all of its stock apps, including Samsung Gallery, Samsung Internet, and Samsung Keyboard.
The built-in photo and video editing apps have been improved. OCR feature helps extract text from images or live camera feed. This feature can be found in the Camera, Gallery and Keyboard apps. Finally, Samsung’s Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra are official. The Galaxy Note 20 Ultra comes with many of the same features that made the Galaxy S20 Ultra so outstanding, such as a 120Hz display, periscope zoom camera, and a 108MP primary rear camera. Meanwhile, the Note 20 gets some features from the Galaxy S20 but is not quite a flagship.
The S Pen, which is located on the left side of the device, has received some major upgrades this time around. First, there’s low latency: 26ms on the Galaxy Note 20 and 9ms on the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, which allows for smoother, more immediate input when drawing, taking notes, or just using the S Pen to navigate the interface. Samsung has also improved the Air Action feature on the Note 10. Some Air Action gestures now work everywhere and let you do things like go back to the home screen and take a screenshot by moving your wrist a certain way.
A Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5g Could Be Happening After All
Samsung is also making some changes to its Notes app to make the S Pen more powerful. You can now import PDFs into Samsung Notes, annotate and edit them with the S Pen, and then save them in PowerPoint format for further editing. You can highlight words, annotate and record audio while playing at the same time.
What’s more, Samsung Notes now has a sync feature that can sync your notes across up to nine devices, including computers, tablets and phones. Thanks to artificial intelligence, the Notes app can even correct your handwriting. Last but not least, Samsung Notes now has a PC-like folder structure for more intuitive organization of all your notes.
If you buy a Galaxy Note 20 with a 6.9-inch HDR10+ certified display, you’ll use the S Pen on a 6.7-inch HDR10+ certified display if you get the Note 20 Ultra. The Note 20 Ultra also has a 120Hz refresh rate, which helps make S Pen input smoother and faster. In case you’re wondering, the Note 20 Ultra is also limited to Full HD+ resolution at 120Hz, but it comes with a new Adaptive Refresh Rate feature that changes the refresh rate based on the app you’re using.
Samsung has dominated the curves of the screen, but you still get an edge-to-edge display on the Note 20 Ultra, now with Gorilla Glass Victus/7 protection on the front and back. The regular Galaxy Note 20 has a flat screen that runs at a standard 60Hz refresh rate and has Gorilla Glass 5 on the front and plastic on the back. The resolution is maxed out at Full HD+, just like last year’s Note 10.
