Update Full Specifications Of Samsung A51 Review – Samsung Galaxy A51 Review: It’s just a functional device, the Galaxy A51 is priced at Rs 23,999, and its highlights are its 48MP quad camera setup and 4,000mAh battery.
Last month, Samsung launched a new A-series smartphone in India – the Galaxy A51. The A series of phones caters to the mid-budget segment, and so does this smartphone. It is priced at Rs 23,999, and has a 48 MP quad camera setup and a 4,000 mAh battery.
Update Full Specifications Of Samsung A51 Review
In this price segment, Galaxy A51 competes directly with Redmi K20 Pro (review), Redmi Note 8 Pro and Oppo F15 (review).
Samsung Galaxy A51 Specs
While the F15 is mostly design and no substance, the K20 Pro is a powerful device, and the Galaxy A51’s closest competitor.
So, does the Galaxy A51 prove to be a better choice than the K20 Pro? Is it a good daily driver? Is it a powerful device, unlike its other A-series siblings? I used the smartphone for a week in my research to answer all these questions.
The Samsung Galaxy A51 has a 6.5-inch Super AMOLED display with 405 ppi pixel density, 87.4 percent screen-to-body ratio and 20:9 aspect ratio.
The vibrant colors and brightness, as well as the size, mean the A51 is extremely handy when using video on the go.
Samsung Galaxy A51 Full Review, Price And Specs In 2020
The sunlight clarity of the Galaxy A51 is really good. You won’t squint to read a text or look at a photo on your phone.
Auto brightness on the phone, however, sometimes gets messy. In brightly lit indoor settings, the phone sometimes alternates between low and high brightness, making it really annoying for the user.
The Samsung Galaxy A51 doesn’t really have a design that stands out, at least at first glance. However, when you take it in your hand for the first time, you will notice how light the device is – this is despite the 4,000 mAh battery under the hood. Its weight is 172 grams.
The smartphone is also really smooth, which gives you a good grip even with that glossy back. The back of the Galaxy A51 looks like glass but feels like plastic (though certainly not the cheap kind), and that’s because Samsung used a material it uses for the back of the phone called “Glastic”.
The Galaxy A51 Android 12 Update Is Here!
I used the phone for two weeks, and I carried it around in my bag, with keys and lipstick and a charger and my wallet, all of which can easily scratch a phone. However, the Galaxy A51 survived it all without a single scratch on its back.
The spots, however, were like clothes for the device I used. He wore them all the time. But the phone comes with a silicon case that can protect the phone from scratches and smudges in the long run.
The variant I reviewed comes in black, which is pretty boring. There is a blue variant that you should check out.
There’s also a pair of headphones in the box that are made of plastic, and they definitely feel cheap. The sound quality of these headphones is also very poor. Basically, they’re just functional headphones that you can use as a backup.
Samsung Galaxy A51 Review: A Stellar Refresh With One Major Letdown
The Samsung Galaxy A51 has a 48 MP primary camera with f/2.0 aperture, a 12 MP f/2.2 ultra-wide lens, a 5 MP f/2.4 wide lens, and a 5 MP f/2.2 depth sensor.
In daylight, the smartphone clicks excellent images with good color balance and exposure. The images also preserve many natural details. I also liked the edge detection in portrait mode in the rear camera. It’s really accurate and doesn’t blur the baby hair around your face awkwardly. Portrait pictures look very natural.
Selfies, for which the camera uses a 32MP lens, are also quite good, but with Beauty mode also turned off, you’ll find that the phone softens the focus a bit. Images are not as sharp as what you get on the front camera.
The Galaxy A51 allows you to shoot 2160p video at 30 fps and 1080p video at up to 120 fps. Video quality is also good, with good color balance, and good stabilization. However, this stabilization does not work well at all when taking still images. You may not get a clear picture if you are in a moving vehicle or your hands are shaking.
Samsung Galaxy A51 Review
When it gets dark, the A51 really struggles. Selfies taken at night are grainy and show poor colors. Exposure is also poor with any detail visible in the background. If you look at the pictures in the Flickr album below, you’ll notice that in some nighttime selfies you can barely make out the dark background of my hair.
Night photography from the rear camera is better than the selfie camera, but it’s still functional at best.
The Samsung Galaxy A51 is powered by an Exynos 9611 10nm chipset with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.
The performance of the phone is smooth for everyday tasks like multitasking between social media, watching videos and sending emails. Even while gaming, the phone runs on medium settings and works fine most of the time, however I did notice frame drops a few times while gaming.
Samsung Galaxy A51 With Quad Rear Cameras, In Display Sensor Launched In India: Price, Specifications
Face recognition on the phone is not very good. It’s really a hit or miss thing. The in-display fingerprint sensor, I found, is a much better option. It works fast (provided you keep your registered finger flat on it). The fingerprint sensor works even when your hands are slightly wet.
The call quality on the device is not very good. However, sometimes I hear a hum that sometimes makes it difficult to understand the caller.
The Galaxy A51 has a 4,000 mAh battery. In the box, you get a 15W fast charger that takes your phone from 0 to 45 percent in about 40 minutes.
Fully charged, the phone easily lasts for about two days if you use it for simple everyday tasks like using social media apps, taking notes and answering calls.
Samsung Galaxy A51 September Security Update Now Rolling Out
However, if you watch a lot of videos, your battery life can drop by up to a day. It can be even shorter if you play graphics-heavy games for long periods of time.
The Galaxy A51 runs One UI 2.0 based on Android 10 and comes with Samsung Knox for security. The phone also comes with Samsung Pay support, allowing you to tap and pay at stores instead of carrying your credit and debit cards.
UI 2.0 is a major improvement over its first version. The phone has a more intuitive keyboard with automatic multilingual input detection. The
The app has also been enhanced with a feature called ‘Utility Cards’, which ‘intelligently’ detects the latest offers and events happening around you and rearranges their order according to their validity.
Samsung Galaxy A51 Review :
TL; DR: Buy it for everyday tasks, and if you like the look. Ignore if you’re looking for power
The Samsung Galaxy A51 looks pretty good, especially in blue. It has a high quality design. The phone also has a good daytime camera, but it struggles a bit with night photography. The phone’s battery lasts a long time and charges quite quickly.
The phone performs well, letting you play on medium settings, but the experience isn’t lag-free. Galaxy A51’s UI is intuitive and smooth.
Compared to the competition, the A51 isn’t that bad. The A51 loses out in the gaming department and its night camera isn’t as good as the Redmi K20 Pro, but whether that matters to you is up to you.
Samsung Galaxy A51 Review: Wait For A Price Drop
When we come back to the question of being better than its competition, the Galaxy A51 can only lose in the gaming department and lose a little in terms of night camera with the Redmi K20 Pro.
