Many people use their Android phone for work, and it eats up a lot of battery power throughout the day. If you rely on something like a battery case to keep your phone running, you’re not alone. Battery cases have some disadvantages, however, making your device bulkier and heavier than it needs to be – and sometimes negatively affecting your wireless reception. Especially a portable charger or power bank can help you. From wired options to models that can charge your phone wirelessly, there are plenty of options to keep your Android device running.
To that end, I’ve rounded up the top picks for the best portable charger for Android devices. Although they cost more, I personally prefer batteries that have a USB-C output in them, so I don’t have to worry about carrying a charging cable to get enough power for my devices. (Models with built-in USB-C cables also work for iPad Pro devices.) But I’ve also included some budget options for those who don’t want to spend a fortune on portable power and their charging needs. And while we have a separate power bank roundup for iPhones, here’s something
As long as you provide a Lightning cable, the integrated USB-C cable will work well with the iPhone (and non-Pro iPad models).
Best Portable Power Stations Of 2022
Like the Phonesuit Journey, the $33 Ventev Powercell 6010 Plus Portable Charger and Battery Pack has integrated folding prongs and an integrated USB-C cable. It has a 6,000 mAh battery and also has a standard USB port so you can charge and recharge several devices with an additional cable.
MyCharge’s HubPlus portable charger and power bank ($60) has an integrated foldable wall plug, an integrated micro USB cable and USB-C cable, and a USB-out port. It’s a little big, but with a 6,700 mAh battery, it can recharge the battery twice (and some three times) on most phones. The charger also has 18 watts of output power and Qulacomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 feature, which allows faster charging of devices with USB-C.
The Anker PowerCore 10000 PD Redux Portable Battery Charger retails for around $40. Although the battery charger is thicker in size than some of the charger options in this roundup, it is one of the smaller 10,000 mAh portable charger models and has an 18 -Watt USB-C PD port, which provides fast charging. A necessary USB cable (USB-C to USB-C) is included for fast charging.
Mophie’s PowerStation PD portable battery is available in 6,000 mAh and 10,050 mAh ($24) versions. The 6,000 mAh model (pictured here) delivers 18 watts of power from its USB-C port for fast charging purposes to extend battery life. You can charge and recharge a second device from the USB-A port for multi-device charging.
Momax Q.power Touch 10,000 Mah Battery Review
The Anker model is basically a bulky wall charger with a built-in 5,000 mAh battery. It has two standard USB charging ports to charge your phone and a secondary gadget (or two phones) simultaneously. And a small LED indicator on the side allows you to check the charge level with the press of a button. It’s currently between $30 and $40 on Amazon, depending on the color you choose (white, black, or lipstick red).
The MyCharge Home & Go portable charger has built-in foldable prongs so you can plug directly into a wall outlet for charging. The small and slim 4,000 mAh version costs about $24 and has a single USB-out (USB-C cable not included).
At around $85, Moshi’s Porto Q 5K (5,000-mAh) isn’t cheap, but like the MyCharge Unplugged, it’s a portable battery that doubles as a wireless portable charger. It’s more modern than the MyCharge Unplugged and charges via USB-C instead of micro USB. There is a USB-out port for wired charging and you can charge and recharge two devices simultaneously.
If you’re looking for a portable battery that can also play music, the Esquire Mini 2 ($80) is a sleek Bluetooth travel speaker that includes a USB-out port for charging devices (lightning cable not included). It looks surprisingly good for its slim size and it comes with a travel bag.

We’ve used all of the models above in anecdotal testing over the past few weeks and months. We recommend every battery pack highlighted above, but there are hundreds of others on sale now on Amazon and elsewhere, so we’ve zeroed in on some favorite brands: Mophie, MyCharge and Anker, with some notable one-offs from Auki, Ventave, Moshi and Herman Cordon, thrown in for good measure.

Review: Omnicharge Omni Mobile 12,800 Mah Power Bank
It’s the smallest and lightest 10,000mAh power bank we’ve tested. It has USB-C PD and USB-A ports, comes in several colors, and the rounded edges make it easy to slip into a pocket.
Zendure SuperMini 20W is small and light enough to be a power bank, while providing enough capacity to juice most smartphones up to three times. Its USB-C Power Delivery (PD) port can charge most handheld devices (and recharge a power bank) at maximum speed with the included USB-C cable and a compatible wall charger (the one that came with your phone will work). The USB-A port can also handle any old, non-USB-C devices you have lying around. The rounded edges of the supermini make it easy to hold and slip into a pocket, and unlike most power banks, it comes in a variety of colors: red, green, black, silver, blue and pink.
This power bank has the same capacity (10,000 mAh) as our top pick and is almost as small and light. Plus, it adds two built-in charging cables (Lightning and USB-C) to keep your purse or pocket clutter-free.
If you prefer a power bank with built-in cables, unfettered by separate charging cables that take up space and easily tangled or lost in a cluttered bag, the HyperJuice 18W USB-C + Lightning Battery Pack (10000mAh) is the best for you. will find. It’s about the same price as our top pick (at this writing), but it only has one port (USB-C input only) to the Zendoor’s two. However, it adds two built-in charging cables (USB-C and Lightning) that slide seamlessly in and out of their holsters on either side of the camera. It has the same 10,000mAh capacity rating as the Zendure and weighs slightly more (7.9 ounces versus the SuperMini’s 6.4 ounces), making it as compact as the iPhone SE. It has a sophisticated look and a comfortable, concave shape that makes it easy to hold.
Apple Magsafe Battery Pack Review
The ultraslim power bank fits in a wallet or pocket, can charge most phones by at least a third, and is available in flash, micro-USB and USB-C versions.
A travel cord charger is the best portable charger for those who want to always have an emergency boost of power. It has the lowest capacity of any power bank we’ve tested—it can only charge most phones from empty to about 30% to 50%—but it’s unmatched for weight (less than 2 ounces) and size. It’s bigger and thicker than the average credit card but not by much, so it fits easily in a wallet or pocket. You can charge it with a built-in USB-A cable and a built-in output cable (Lightning, Micro-USB, or
