According to T-Mobile’s official support page for this tablet, “As of July 18, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 (T817T) has received a software update for Android 6.0.1/Baseband version T817TUVU2BPF1.” Unfortunately, the same source only mentions “Android 6.0” in the new features section. However, the new features introduced by this major update are notable: Google Now on Tap, Doze mode, improved app permissions, multi-user mode, Nexus Imprint compatibility for fingerprint reader, new emojis, updated TouchWiz UI and more.

In my preschool days, I hated writing and creating stories. After ten years I started enjoying it. Since then I have published some offline articles and moved to online space, contributed to major websites like Softpedia, Brothersoft, Download3000 and wrote for many blogs online till 2021. for many years. I’ve been going with the crew since 2013 and have no plans to stop anytime soon. T-Mobile, lovers of great mechanical keyboards, vinyl and tape sounds, but also smartphones, streaming services and digital art, are offering the Samsung Galaxy S2 for just $99 on their website, but the sale ends today, December 18th. Only the white version is offered and retails for $99 after a $50 mail-in rebate. Of course, you still have to sign a new two-year contract and buy a data plan on top of it, but if you’re thinking of getting a Galaxy S2, you might as well get it.

Specifically, if you want a deal, you should go through the T-Mobile website or call 1-877-387-4324 and purchase a promotional data plan called Extra. There’s an individual or family plan, and they offer $80 per month for 1,500 minutes of talk time and unlimited web access (the family plan is $150 per month for two minutes).

Moreover, after activating the phone, you will get postal discount. If you’ve owned a cell phone before, you know how this all works, but at least you’ll get one of the world’s best-selling smartphones for your trouble. The Galaxy S2 has a 4.5-inch Super AMOLED Plus screen, 4G, an eight-megapixel rear camera, 16 gigabytes of onboard storage, and a microSD card slot for expanding storage up to 32 gigabytes.

It’s also very thin and light, although the light weight is partly due to its all-plastic body. Some may think the device is cooler or weaker because of this, but that’s a matter of personal preference.

Other important features that don’t get enough hype are the Galaxy S2’s DLNA compatibility and the fact that the microUSB port is an MHL port. DLNA allows you to use your Galaxy S2 as a remote control for DLNA compatible devices. For example, your HDTV or Blu-ray Disc player may have this function, but you’ll need to check the device. The MHL port is on the bottom of the phone and acts as a micro USB port for charging, but can also send video and audio to HDMI-equipped displays. The MHL jack detects USB or MHL resistance and switches the phone to USB data/charge or MHL audio/video/charge mode. You need a special cable to run your HDMI devices.

T-Mobile is currently the only US carrier without an iPhone, and it’s staking the farm on Android — a platform where Samsung devices are usually the cream of the crop. The $229.99 Galaxy S II (with a two-year contract, of course) is a natural upgrade to its high-end, best-selling predecessor — it has a bigger screen and beefier internals — but is a step up enough? We’ve already reviewed a Galaxy S II variant, the Epic 4G Touch for Sprint, and aside from a few caveats, we have high hopes for this phone. Can it live up to its name, and more importantly, can it keep pace with the rest of the high-end phone market? Read on for our full review.

The best thing about the Galaxy S II is that with such a big, bright screen, the relatively small bezels are gone, making the GSII feel like an endless pool of phones. Although it’s large at 5.11 x 2.71 inches, it’s only 0.37 inches (9.4mm) thick and feels great to hold. One unpleasant thing on the front of the phone is the Samsung logo, which is crammed between the bottom of the screen and the capacitive Android buttons. I don’t mind the logo, but it looks like it was slapped on in an odd place at the last second.

The phone looks good and has a textured back that is easy to hold; It’s not as fingerprint prone as the Nexus S’s glossy back. It’s plastic and looks a little cheap, but it’s surprisingly durable. The 3.5 mm headphone jack is on the top and the micro USB port on the bottom, in my mind it should be both. The power button is on the right side of the phone, I like it because you can easily find it when using the phone with one hand, but I always have to show people where to find it first.

Samsung phones are always well-made, but they don’t have much of an industrial or high-end feel. The Galaxy S II certainly has a better build quality than the original Galaxy S, and it doesn’t look as well put together in any way, but it doesn’t feel as solid as the iPhone or the aluminum HTC Amaze 4G. It will also be bullet proof.

The Super AMOLED Plus display of the Galaxy S II’s 4.52-inch monster is bright, vivid, and has 180-degree viewing angles — though there’s a noticeable blue tint from the center. It suffers in direct sunlight, but anyone with a big screen has probably already perfected the art of a manual sun shield. The 800 x 480 resolution of the screen is not enough to make the content on the screen look good. We now expect qHD displays on high-end phones, and on the Galaxy Nexus we’re getting 1280 x 720 screens – WVGA is just a particularly large screen on a high-end phone. While using the phone I couldn’t help but think that I had enabled some zoom setting that made everything look smaller than it should and texting too often.
